A couple of things i noticed today. Driving home in the dark tonight I put on the main beam. Noticed how bright the blue warning light is on the instrument panel, has anyone else noticed? Seems much more prominent than on my previous Punto. Suppose I will get used to it but appears very bright and a bit distracting.

Also, my Dynamic doesn't have a boot light. I had a look and behind the side trim panel there is a small block connector loose with two small female connectors near the hole where the light goes. I reckon this is the feed wire, only issue is before I test it for a supply and earth, does anyone know how it would be controlled by a switch. There is no obvious one on the tailgate.
I fancy fitting a boot light as its a real pain in the dark not being able to see what is in there etc.
Perhaps on the Elegance where it's standard there is a switch fitted on the boot sill or something?

Thanks:)

mrs t has just left with her car!!!! bum.... still i will look tomorrow and see what the word is, as i recall the light only comes on when the tailgate moves out, as opposed to being unlocked using the remote

dont really find the blue light that prominent, but then i have only "flashed" with it

That blue light was the one really irritating feature I found with the new Panda. It is so bright and yes, it is distracting, especially round these parts where, at night, its hard to see all the wild horses etc. I spoke to the dealer about it and they have had many comments about it, so maybe Fiat will look into dimming it in future? I stuck a small bit of transparent dark film over mine in the end!

If your Panda is new from the dealer... My advice on the boot light is to bring your Panda back to the dealer. Mine was also delivered minus the boot light, but I argued that all the brochures said that it should have a boot light, and got one fitted...:D

The light (when it is fitted) goes on and off, using a plunger in boot lock on the boot door.

Can't say I've really noticed the bright blue light when you turn on the full beam. My Panda is definitely a city car and I'm rarely out anywhere that I can use full beam... Might get to try it out when I'm out on Tuesday night... and then I'll report back...

I know thi is an old thread, but my new Panda's boot wasn't lighting up tonight. Will check tomorrow whether this is because it has no light at all, or whether the dealer removed the bulb while it was in the showroom.

Check the specs for your model - and bring it back to the dealer to get them to install it...

I don't have a boot light also.

Anyone know if a 2004 1.2 Dynamique bought in Sept 2004 should have one?

Thanks.

got a guacamole green 54 plate dynamic, should that have one?
my mrs's Multipla 54 plate does have alight but i cant find the plunger that would activate it! ,ahybe triggered when boot opens.
will call my dealer tomorrow.

I have a Belgian Multijet Dynamic, which doesn't come with a boot light (!), but after reading these threads I went to the local Fiat dealer who fitted one for a mere 13euros (about £9).
As mentioned in other posts, all wiring and switches were there already.

Thanks everyone, you've just helped me sort out one of the (few) things I wasn't happy about with the car!

Just picked up my new dynamic and i havent got a boot light to i have asked my dealer where i got the car from and they are going to look at it in a couple of weeks they dont know if the wiring is there for it, apart from that nice car !

I have a boot light on my 4x4 Climbing, without any extra ordering. As far I know, 4x4 is based on Dynamic in interrior equipment, isn't?

I am not paying for one as the spec in the brochure they gave me when i ordered it has it listed as a standard feature, what i cant understand is how can they forget to do it, also i thought the garage was suppose to do a pre delivery inspection dont they bother to check lights anymore.

Well, I have the latest Panda brochure dated Dec 2005.

The "illuminated boot" is only standard on the Eleganza and 4x4 and "not available" on any other model.

However, the "illuminated boot" was standard on ALL models - except Active, in the brochure that I have dated Feb 2004.

I have spoke to them and they are having the car in to see if the wiring there to do it but what i cant make out how did all these panda which havent had the light fitted in the boot get passed fiats checks as i would have thought they should check them before shipping to uk would save them alot of hassle.

it must be down to build dates, changing specs, etc. as on another post, it appears the list price for the eleganza has shot up recently.

its possible that the dealers price guides and brochures are not keeping track with whats coming through from the factory, ot they havn't taken old brochures off the shelves
