Hello folks,I am not new to the forum but i sold my punto ages ago and been running a rover 75 diesel for the last two years,,
I have been offered a Panda 1.3 diesel auto and wanting to downsize it sounds ideal..Can anyone recommend this option,,never had a fiat auto before,,,its a 57 plate,,,low mileage ,history with the car and the guy is asking 1200 pounds,
Thanks in advance,Bob.

As a Fiat auto owner for the past 12 years ,and also going by other comments on the Forum, I would say they are great when they are working properly, probably the best auto/semi auto made.BUT when they are not working properly you might as well scrap them ,because ,basically, few agents know how they work: they tend to replace whole units ,at quite eye watering prices.
If you are interested in one drive it for a long test drive, preferably a good 100 miles, change gear often, ( you can override it in 'auto'; this is why I like it against a normal auto ) and preferably get someone who has one to guide you.
The last Panda I owned had a problem which couldn't be cleared , in the end I got rid of it. A punto I had was back and forward to a local agent , they couldn't fix that either, The present G Punto is ,touch wood, o.k. BUT .....BE CAREFUL. One that's still under warranty is the best bet.

Thanks for the info, think i will give the auto a miss, cheers,Bob.
