I've seen a lot of posts about people trying to get longitudinal roof rails for their Fiat Panda at a reasonable price.

Yesterday a went on to Ebay and searched for Breaking Fiat Panda & more than 200 came up. I messaged about 8 and got 4 responses from breakers who had the bars at an average of £75 to £100 inc P&P.

Parts4Cars247 was one. Fill your boots, there are plenty out there!

i was lucky when i was looking for some bars for my white Panda some new bars in white came on ebay for sale at a buy it now price of £75 and they look great on the car:)

Only ones I could find were £239 for new ones. And a single one for £30 ish. Is it a roof lining out job to bolt them on?

What the OP was trying to say is that you need to search eBay for "panda breaking." That will bring up a handful of complete vehicles being broken for parts. You then need to message each of the sellers to ask them for prices of individual parts including roof rails if the car has them. I've just don't exactly this and picked up a replacement steering wheel and gear gaitor for £40 delivered. I've also been quoted £35 for roof rails

A slightly different subject, I want to put a bike rack on the roof and am looking at this:

> 2 x Thule FreeRide 532 bike carriers + CRUZ premium bars

I assume the eleganza type rails that come with the car are actually strong enough to carry bikes and are not just for show?

Have a look in drivers hand book for roof load or something along those lines and it should give a weight.
Together with some helpful advice about carrying roof loads.

It couldn't be vaguer actually, this is from page 65 of the up to 2012 Panda manual:

On some versions, bars carrying all objects
can be provided as an optional.

I am sure from my memory that the maximum roof load is 50kg.

That is truly unhelpfully hand book.
50kg is a sensible maximum in my opinion.

You could try having a look at genuine fiat roof bars and seeing what the recommend load is , then you will know if the rails can cope.
Phone a dealer that's always a laugh.

Recommended load is 50kg for roof bars. I've only ever used mine with a roof box for carrying pram, travel cot, etc when on holiday with small people. Never had any issues.

Thank you. I had roof rails on my first panda but I couldn't see where the bolts were so I assumed they were bolted from the inside thru the roof and into the bars.

I spoke to Oldham Fiat Spares yesterday who have none in stock but usually charge £30 a pair!!
