I'm struggling to find a solution to a lumpy idle on my 100HP.
Connected it up to multiecuscan - no errors.
Searched the forum and got a few pointers.
(The spark plugs, air filter and oil all recent - though the poor idle arrived before this service)
Checked all the air lines / vacuum. All OK.
Checked all plugs / connectors were secure. So far so good.

Back to the forum!
One post mentioned cleaning the throttle.
Most of my previous cars have been sensor overload - this little Panda though has me stumped. Other than one electrical connector on the throttle body itself - I've not found any MAF or intake sensor. So really all I've done is clean the butterfly valve in the throttle... Seems like I'm missing something?

Any help at this point would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks

Does it rev cleanly and drive normally?

Thanks for the reply.
It drives fairly smooth although there is (to my mind) either flat spots or hesitation when accelerating. Almost like the engine gulps for air every so often.

if you have changed the plugs, then your issue sounds like a coilpack.

Spray some Easy Start around the air intake areas including the intake manifold gaskets lines. Any changes in engine revs indicate an air leak.

Recently bought myself a 100hp and I’m having lumpy idol with occasional lumpy acceleration to a point where the Amber engine warning light flashed for a few seconds then went off after I pulled back a little. I was assuming it was the EGR?
Recent service and oil change plus new cambelt and water pump so I’m hoping this is an easy DIY fix!?
Is it worth changing the plugs/HT leads? And air filter? The exhaust is shot to bits so I will need a new one sooner or later! Could they be an issue?

The 100HP has an electronic throttle so the pedal potentiometer can also be an issue. If it's breaking down, the ECU will respond accordingly but wont see it as a fault.

The car has a MAP sensor on the intake manifold. Check that is clean as well as the throttle body.

A miss-fire caused by intermittent spark causes the ECU to enrich the air/fuel ratio. The unused oxygen going down the exhaust looks to the ECU like the engine is running weak so it turn up the fuel flow. If that goes too far the O2 sensors can get dirty. Fuel consumption is poor and eventually you will get an EML warning.

Others may know how to test the coil packs (stick coils) but I've generally found the ones that smell cooked (yes really) are dead or dying (you know - that electrical burning smell). They have to work in a hot environment and withstand enormous voltages so it's no surprise they'll fail eventually.

Some sources for coil packs.

Lets us know if any will fit the 100HP especially something like the pack of four for £40. Even with 66% saving over OEM prices, it still beats £44 each at S4P.
