Where are you located? If you plan to keep the car, a full (cat back) system can be built in stainless for very reasonable cost.
Rutland, in between Leicester and Peterborough. Would of thought it was out my price range.
Anyway, found a private seller in Italy who has a brand new marelli for sale just trying to sort out the shipping. Seems gonna cost more than the exhaust!. So if anyone fancies a weekend road trip (y).

Talk to Andy at Xtreme Stainless near Stafford. He made a pair of link pipes for my motorbike which needed some very careful bending and welding and being on full show, they had to look good. All done and fitted for £80. A Panda exhaust system would be much less work though more metal of course.

If you tend towards a purist approach, a fancy manifold can be added at a later date.

Having had many aftermarket exhausts on M cars and daily drivers. It would have to be an exhaust with zero drone.

Does one exist?

Considering the marelli centre pipe's are hard to come by, has anyone tried using a "mid silencer delete pipe" i.e cutting out the mid-silencer and replacing it with straight section?

And is that setup even legal (MOT) in the UK?

My 1200 has the OEM exhaust which does not have a centre box. But centre boxes are generally straight through with wadding around a perforated tube so they don't really damage the gas flow.

Ultimately I couldn't find a Marelli SS500C, straight through centre section, available for sale. But I did get the SS500B back box from Italy, via eBay.

I tried a couple of local fabricators, one wasn't really interested in the little job. An Powerflow in Bromley quoted me almost £290,just for the centre section, and with my *customer experience* I'd have probably declined a quote of £29..

So with the MOT rapidly incoming, I had a regular replacement mid-section, and the Marelli back box fitted. Sounds rather nice too, and it's all MOT friendly. ??

Where did you get the replacement mid section from?
The centre section (with a silencer) was supplied, and both sections were fitted by my local independent garage, just prior to the MOT. So likely just (paid top dollar for) a pattern part centre section, although I did ask for a nicer one.

I did see the smaller engined versions on eBay, without the silencer. Although I understand the tubing diameter doesn't work effectively with the 100hp back box.

Apparently was a squeeze getting the Marelli back box twin tips in the standard rear bumper cut-out, and it was a little high to start. But it seems to have lowered in the recess, I'm assuming the rubber hangers have "bedded in"?

Very happy with the sound. Although I'm definitely curious about what it would've sounded like with out the centre silencer. But in retrospect, probably lucky not to have been able to easily pick one up. As the extra noise would probably draw more attention than I want.. I must remember that I'm a 40 something, not a 20 something.
I'm blaming the car, it's a hooligan ?

I'm 40 something and I drive mine like a hooligan...

I've got a white one too, and we both know they're the fastest ones!
Maybe the white colour has extra hoonigan influencing qualities also?

Thought it would be best to update thread. The marelli pipe from Italy fell through, the seller insisted it was to much hassle to post it.
Anyway, i went with with the raggazon Straight through with ulter back box. Not has loud as i thought it was gonna be. After a few hundred miles sounds good, burbles and pops in the right places and i nice "rasp" at a high end quick change.

I'm getting my 100hp exhaust done now from flexi to back box, straight thru full stainless powerflow.

here's the pics

I have the Raggazon system with the Group N centre section with no silencer.

It's pretty loud, goes through MOT no problem. I'd like to hear what a Raggazon with the silenced centre sounds like.

That's looking great. Do you have a costs per section, mid, backbox etc it'd would be great to get ballpark figures for each part + labour
:)

whole lot custom built from scratch....just choose the tail pipe style they do the rest.
it cost me £390 would of been more with the centre silencer, but it does'nt need it
they said the centre silencer really doesnt make much difference.
all i need now is a better manifold + cat
i can hear the exhaust even with my music thumping away at 50mph...ish
also it was handy having it up in the air like that, as it gave me chance to look underneath properly.
* rear axle signs of rust (not bad at that either)
*n/s bump stop broke...(in pic if you look closely, it's upside down lol) the rubber part in the base has broke away
* back box brackets on panda signs of rust...but not that bad either
* no signs of any oil leaks from gearbox or engine
next thing is transfer my coil overs from the 1100 panda to the 100hp and fit the strut brace.
