I'm after a set of longitudinal roof bars/rails (go the length of the roof front to back) for my 2009 1.1 Eco.Does anyone have a pair for sale?

Good luck. There's hardly even any on eBay anymore.

They turn up from time to time, but start saving up now. Anyone who knows their value is unlikely to be selling them cheaply.

I bought a whole car for a set of roofbars and 4 alloys. Twice. Still driving the first one!

Haven't seen a set for sale for a while. Check eBay and Gumtree anyway, but best bet might be finding a breakers yard and making an offer.
Was a set at a local breaker a while ago but car has gone now so probably stripped & crushed by now.

Our Dynamic has roof rails, but they're useless for me without then adding a roof rack.


Have you considered the alternative (cheaper) roof bars? They lack the mini-hearse glamour of the anodised rails but are more practical - and with the right accessories (Victorian steamer trunk, Aghan rug and a 1950s Coca-Cola cooler box) can enhance your attractiveness to the Euro-look club members.

I had to move some scaffold planks. A one-off job so buying cross bars was out of the question. Two 4ft lengths of framing timber bungeed across the roof rails and the planks pulls down with ratchet straps - job done. It was only five miles but nothing moved, not even a mm.

Has anyone got any clamp on cross bars? £80 (from) for new is extracting the Michael.
