Hi, I have purchased some Koni rear STRT's.

Is it really as easy as jacking up the car and removing two nuts and replacing?

Otherwise are there any written instructions or a video?

Thanks

Yes its really that easy and shouldn't take more than 20 mins to do both. A bolt at the top and one at the bottom.

Wow, bloody hell. I've got a torque wrench also.

Sounds easy. Seems I also will need a spacer tube as a lot of the guys who fitted these shocks found them loose at top bush.

Does anyone have the ebay link? I tried to find it from a previous thread but the link is dead.

A spacer won't do any harm but it's not needed as the joint doesn't move once tightened.

It's best to do the final tightening of the top & bottom bolts with the back axle in its usual position otherwise the shock's bushes will be permanently twisted and may not last as long. The bottom bolt can just about be tightened with the wheels on the ground but the top is trickier - personally I jack the axle up.

Thanks for the heads up. I was hoping to be able to jack it from the back rather than side points. So there is no rear jacking point I gather?

I'll try and find a picture for the best point to jack from rear. Don't want to do any damage!

Fit the top bolts first. They have self cleaning threads and all to easy to get cross threaded. Keep going and you risk shearing the bolt, but then you also have a chewed female thread so take care.

While you are under there, scrape off any loose rust and Waxoyl the bottom spring pans. Also check the bump stops are ok.
