Hi
I have a strange fault, my 2009 Panda Mamy has started talking Italian to me. I know this is due to the bluandme, hands free system. I need to update the language which is supposidly done via a download (which I have) and a USB port which does not exist, well I've turned my car inside out and I can't find it.

If you do know how I can update the language on my radio (bluandme) and where I might find the elusive USB port, then please please help me. And i garuntee, you will have been far more help than our local fiat main dealer.

I,m sorry to say, but our new car might have to be a Ford, at least they return enquiries.

Thank for your help

I've only ever seen them in the glove box or in the centre console, In front of the handbrake. normally behind a panel that slides

Nothing in the glove box, this is as mk2 panda. But thanks anyway

Is there a windows logo on the steering wheel
It does not have a windows logo, so its a Gen 1 BlueandMe, this though is still updatble to 5.1 (this is all from memory and so might be wrong), but if its updatble, then there must be a port to update

If it's saying 'Acoppiare l'appareccio' or something similar - excuse the spelling - then it's asking you to pair your phone with the car. You can't change the language on this.
it might well be saying this. and so all I need now is a manual to understand how this effin thing works....sorry for the faux profanity, but Ive been trying to understand this sytem for ages.......thanks for your advice though, you have done 100% more than our local Fiat dealer could manage

This might sound silly but you sure you haven't changed the language setting on the car's menu not the radio. Can't find any reference to a USB port in the owners manual.
I took the battery off.................thats all.

But the truth is, Ive never used this, I have no idea how to operate this system, but now the car is been passed down to my son to learn to drive in, so he wants to know how things work.

Ive been to the Blue & Me Website - http://www.blueandme.net/blueandme/index.aspx/ and in the support area, we can download the update, which is put on a USB, but I can't find the USB port in my car. On the Blue&Me website, download page, I cant find any downloads for a Panda, but there is one for a Punto 2012, this is a Gen 1 system, the same as mine, so presumably, the same system.

I would happily settle for reading an online manual. Its infuriating not knowing how to use it, I can make a phone call on it, but only to the last number dialed. My son keeps asking me how to use the system, I don't know and cant help him.............and it talks Italian!!!!!! (Although I now believe that its asking to pair a phone.......thank you so, so, much on that one)

Is there anywhere online which has the operating manual for a fiat Blue&Me Gen 1 system????????

Thanks to everyone for all your help, its so appreciated.

There's the Grande Punto Blue&Me user guide from 2009 which will probably be the same menu as your 2009 Panda:

If you pair a phone to it, it'll stop. Refer to the manual I posted in the other thread, or that has been copied above.

Are you sure it has blue&me

According to the blue&me wiki Pandas didn't get it until 2011

However it could wrong but would explain why there is no logo or USB

I'm not sure if this helps, but I have the same system in my 08 Cross.

Once your phone is paired to the radio, the Italian lady should be quiet. Mine pairs to Phone v3.19 and there is a short beep once connected. Going forward the phone will auto connect.

Whilst it is Bluetooth, you can only dial the last number, or up to 10 numbers which you have to input manaully via the radio, with a combination of voice and keypad actions. These are then dialled by speaking the name of the number you want.
I hope that makes sense. Bluetooth nowadays is a lot more clever and intuitive.

If your son has in iPhone/ or other which he can access, by saying "hi Siri"/ "heh Cortana etc, he can access all contacts and numbers, without touching the phone and this then dials the number and your on Bluetooth via radio.

Incoming calls will ring through the radio, which helpfully announces PHONE on the radio screen. Steering wheel phone buttons will answer, or end call. To increase volume when on a call, adjust via radio volume.

I may have the Bluetooth audio manual in the Panda and can copy the pages if need be.

Edit. The manual I have is identical to the one posted above by H P. (Printed in an era before we stuck the letter " i " in front of everything) This covers all your son needs. It does not mention iPhones but they are compatible too.
