Evening..

I'll be replacing my fiances oil filter tomorrow.

By that i mean the oil filter in her Panda.

After looking through the forum i'm seeing 5w40c3 is the best option re the replacement oil.

Just wondered - how much I will need, if someone could let me know.

thanks

Oil capacity including the filter is about 2.7 litres.

A standard 4l container will leave enough for a couple of top-ups; alternatively three 4l containers will do four oil changes.

You can get 4l of Castrol Edge 5W40 C3 in Asda just now for £29. If you buy it by the litre, it'll cost you £30 for 3x 1l containers, so it's a no-brainer to get the larger one.

I've just done a oil and filter change on my 2008 1.2 and for some reason it took 3.1 litres. I don't know if it's had an aftermarket sump fitted or the markings on the shell helix container are wrong but it's bang on max on the dip stick.
