Hi

Recently bought 2004 , 1.1 petrol.

Question is, I am only getting between 250 and 300 miles max from full tank of fuel

Would this be right. Seems a bit thirsty to me???

I have changed air filter but no improvement.

Advice or suggestions welcomed.

Drives really well. Got diagnostic done and no faults shown.

Just wondering as I hoped I would get better mpg.

Driven slowly. Not revved or driven hard

Thank you

Ian

A panda tank holds 39 litres I think so basing it on using 35 litres for 300 miles makes it about 39 mpg. Do you do a lot of stop start driving? If you do then it's not too bad. On a run it should do over 50 mpg.
You could try new plugs and an oil change.

That will do it. These engine like to be kept spinning. That's not to say bouncing the valves but certainly not chugging along. the 1100 is not as good on fuel as the 1200.

Cars also benefit from being used. When driven at moped speeds the engine and exhaust clog up so the poor thing can't breathe properly. Give it good hard drive for 100 miles on posh petrol and then check the fuel consumption. If its always been driven gently from new the pistons are probably tight and that affects economy. The solution is also some long fast drives to free it off internally.

Parkers: litres per 100km lower numbers are better (you'll have to do the mpg conversion)

1200 69bhp
Fuel consumption (economy) - urban 6.4 l/100 km.
Fuel consumption (economy) - extra urban 4.0 l/100 km.
Fuel consumption (economy) - combined 4.9 l/100 km.

1100 54 bhp
Fuel consumption (economy) - urban 7.2 l/100 km.
Fuel consumption (economy) - extra urban 4.8 l/100 km.
Fuel consumption (economy) - combined 5.7 l/100 km.

If it helps,
Ive also got a 2004 1.1 Active, 44,000mls on the clock.
It gives me roughly 40 to the gallon

Cheers

I can reach 16,9KM / 16,6KM per litre or 10.5 miles / 10.3 miles per litre on the car computer but to do so I haveto reach the speed I want shift to the highest gear as possible and really lightly touch the throttle. Hope one of you knows if this normal? Driving this way doesn’t feel like a normal drive J

Air filter renewed a few weeks ago and renewed spark plugs today. hope it makes some difference.

I've had my Panda since Feb 2016 and I've been checking the mileage at every tankful....I seem to get 280 - 310 miles between fills and this works out at between 45 and 49 mpg. I don't drive like an Italian and I don't do lots of stop/start driving, over all I'm pleased with the mpg.
