Hi, I've just bought a Aux plug for my 100HP, but I didn't get a stereo code for the car when I bought it - is it safe to install without disconnecting the power? Or does anywhere know where I can get a working code from?

Assuming you have the Blaupunkt stereo, Davren will be able to get your code in exchange for a donation to the forum Just post your radio serial number.

That said, you shouldn't need it for just installing an aux cable.

IIRC the radio code is also stored in the body computer, so you should only need the code if you are transferring the radio to a different vehicle.

Disconnecting the battery should not break the pairing between the original radio & the body computer.

If by some chance this does not work and you do need the code, then see the above post.

One trick is to fit a normal wire with 5 Amp fuse between battery post and main clamp. This allows the main circuits to be broken but the small wire keeps the electronics happy. Any wiring goofs will pop the fuse and no harm done.

This is also a way to fit a security isolator switch. Fit the switch bridged by a small fused wire. When its isolated, any attempt to start the car will pop the fuse. But if its used correctly the electronics are kept powered up even when the heavy battery circuits are isolated.
