Hi Fiat Forum,

so I own a 2008 Fiat Panda 1.2 Dynamic (with A/C if that makes a difference), and over the last few months I've been experiencing rev issues, such as: when starting the car the rev would exceed its normal 1200 choke idle, and go up to 1500 instead (not much I know), and then when it has warmed up it will drop down to 1200, when it should be around 8/900.

When driving I also frequently get judders, where the engine seems to loose power for less then a second, but enough for me to notice. It's usually after these judders that I notice the revs seem to go back to the way they should be (1200 cold, 8/900 warm), it's as if the car has suddenly realised it's revving to much. The engine management light sometimes comes on during these events, in particular ones where the judder lasts a few seconds.

I broke down a couple of months ago and the RAC attented, when they plugged my car into the diagnostic it yielded two faults:

P0351 - Ignition coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit malfunction

The one above turned out to be the problem, as the RAC man thought before he even plugged it in. This fault below also popped up, which I think is my reoccurring problem with revs:

P0120 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A circuit

I have looked at other threads about the P0120 fault code, but can't seem to get any obvious fixes, I'm thinking about replacing the throttle body, I've attempted the relearn procedure, the battery is new, as are the spark plugs, coils and air filter (apparently that could have caused it).

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

You need to plug it in to a multiscan for more diagnostics. Look at my thread for MAP sensor as well. This can cause issues with over fuelling/running rich and the cause miss fires. Try unplugging the throttle position sensor and cleaning the contacts with contact cleaner.
