Technical Oil Filter for '06 MTJ

It was the second one for my 06 mjet however probably best to buy both and return the unused one to be safe

Good morning,

Euro Car Parts lists 2 possible oil filters for my multijet

Either this one

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/F...947e1d480400f73d2d912b33b68f386d41d14a&000231

or this one

Which is the correct version for my car?

Thanks

TNM

Personally I wouldn't buy either of these; Crosland filters are rubbish.

ECP bought the name when Crosland went into administration and now apply it to whatever parts they can source for the cheapest price.

Buy the equivalent Mann filter instead - also stocked by ECP and not much more expensive. It'd be money well spent.

So this one?

Or this one?

There seems to be an extension on the second one to make it longer.

ECP is about 15 miles from me, Id rather not return stuff if I can avoid it

The MANN online catalog is much more detailed and helpful than the ECP one; go here and you may be able to narrow it down to the filter you need; once you've got the MANN part number, then you can work out which one to get from ECP. (Note: some browsers may have a problem with this site, but it's perfectly safe to use).

I've done this myself before to get the right MANN filter from ECP first time.

For the Mann catalogue, I need to know if I have the 70 or the 75hp version of the engine. How would I know which I have?

Registration is GU06 FDG

Having had a closer look on the Mann website; I don't think that information will help you. The difference is in the filter housing - there are two types, Purflux & UFI, and both types were used in both engines.

Can you see any maker's marks on the oil filter housing? If so, that should enable you to choose the right filter.

Ah, It has UFI printed on it. That makes it easier to find.

Just need to work out how to get the filter cover off now. A previous owner has managed to snap off the hex fitting on the top of the housing.

I had the same problem when I first bought oil for my 54 plate multijet. The parts man gave me both and said bring back the one you don't use. I put a label with the p/n under the bonnet for future reference.
