Right guys its goodbye from Gunmetalpo. As i type it should be at its new home in Manchester !

Was never meant to buy a new car and sell the Panda. You know how it goes, from time to time you check the usual Ebay, Pistonheads and Autotrader of cars you wished you'd own and just to see if there was any well maintained and cherished examples about. This is what i do, bit sad eh (y)

Anyhows always had a soft spot for the Seat Leon Cupra R 225 and it obviously had to be in Platinum Grey and Low Mileage, standard and cherished.....And after looking at 3 cars all priced well above the usual market price i found the one on boxing day. A deal was one and i took the car back to Essex from Warwickshire.

So i went about selling the Panda. I would have loved to have kept it but there was too much money tied up in it.

Tried my luck with a asking price of £4500, then dropped it to £4250. I believed there wasnt many on the market in the condition of mine and truely believed it was worth £4000.

Lots of time wasters offering trade money. But the car was too good and i refused togive it away. Even if it meant i still could not drive the Cupra R until the panda sold.

Sunday 24th someone messaged me on Ebay, asked if it was still available. Offered £3800 and i said i would accept £3900 if he was serious. He got the bus and train down today. No messing, no further haggling and he took the car. £3900 is top money. A dealer/specialist could have sold my car for £5000+ if they were patient enough so good is the condition and its paperwork !

So the 100hp. Its been brilliant. Ive loved every minute of the 20k miles in 2 years ownership. Only time it let me down was when it developed a missfire and i sorted that withnew spark plugs. If im honest the only fault ( i wont even grumble about the ride) is the relatively high road tax.....as a package its brilliant.

So good in fact that when they drop to circa 1k i will begin my search for another.

See you around guys, the forum has been great. Lots of useful information, some funny arguments, some users being banned, its been amusing.

pic of New Vs Old

hope i dont regret selling a car i think is right up there with the best ive owned. The Cupra R has big shoes to fill for sure

Good luck with the new purchase. Of course you'll regret letting the Panda go. You'll get over it.

Thanks for sharing the price info. Handy for when/if I let mine go.

Hopefully the Seat will keep me occupied for a few years when maybe i could get one of my dream cars !

Its funny as i mentioned your car when my mate and i were talking about getting another when they were cheaper.

I know we've bantered massively about your car and its pano roof so if in the future you decide to sell then please message me :D

I think i did really well with the price, interest was a bit slow at the start but if it didnt sell yesterday i did have another keen buyer on the weekend. He too was a car nut and he was most impressed with the comprehensive documentation with the car ! certainly wasnt just a FSH with a stamped book and nothing else

I got my panda for £5350 with 12k miles two years ago and selling for £3900 is brilliant in my eyes.

tired high mileage 07 cars seems to have bottomed out to about £2000 - £2800. surely a 2010 car with low mileage should be selling for more then £3600+. luckily the right buyer came along for mine !

Yeah you did well out of that. Since we got our 1.2 the 100Hp just stays in the garage, with a run every few weeks. Thus the 21000 miles isn't building up much.

Don't need to sell it and until the new Panda comes with:

a) Around 105bhp
b) A nice colour (yellow)
c) A smack with the pretty-stick

I'm in no rush.

Have fun.

There seems to a few owners looking to move on at the moment but I think that's the kind of owners that the 100hp attracts being car enthusiasts so its only natural to want to get in to something different every few years.
Farewell and I hope that sweet LCR looks after you the way the panda did (y)

Cheers gavv8. would have liked to have kept the 100hp as a daily and the LCR as a toy/weekend car but it was just worth too much to justify doing that. especially seeing as the mrs wants a garage conversion so the car sale money will be used for that !

I see and I think wrighty maybe moving one. looking back my car sold quite quickly so i guess a proper enthusiasts will be willing to pay the little extra. I paid well above what other LCR's are selling for for mine but happy so good is the condition.
