You need to consider the 2009 will be getting on for 7 years old now.
They are very reliable cars and most problems are small and easily sorted, but you need to factor in these things when deciding as all the parts will most likely still be original and as old as the car.
So you need to consider if it's going to need things like exhausts, clutches and the likes sometime soon, also what sort of warranty will the sellers give you?
You might be better off visiting a Fiat dealer!
Fiat dealers seemed to be well stocked with good, low mileage 3-4 year old Pandas as they come back to them after 3 & 4 year PCP deals.
With the new reg plates out in March, they'll be a lot of these PCP deals either ending or owners ending them early and upgrading before their current deal ends (and they have to pay the balloon payment)
So it worth shopping around and asking about stock at your local Fiat dealers (as many as you can) and when one pops up bargain hard with them!
Most will be very low mileage cars, as it's typical they were bought on very cheap PCP deals with around 5000 miles a years, so you should be able to find a car with less than 20,000 on the clock with a full fiat service history.
I did this and struck a good deal on our 2012 1.2 Pop with 6500 miles on it, had the choice of 4 and they knew of another two on their way the week after.
I had a good idea of what it owed them as I knew what the balloon payment is on our other Panda after the same period, so offered them that and after a bit of haggling and a slightly improved offer, a deal was done.
Our Pop is a gem, drives much better than our other 1.2 Panda, a 2014 1.2 Lounge.
Sure you need to stick the key in the lock to unlock it, but it's no real hardship as you still need the same key in the same hand to start the engine!
The newer models are hardly ugly, they're curvier!
They are also a little more comfortable and ride/handle the road a little better than the ones before 2012, I know I've had both!
Have you considers a new one?
A new Pop can be had for around £7925 (rather than RRP of £9375) and PCP deals start from around £99 a month.
But there are ways to get them cheaper (without stealing them)
Fiat offer certain customers discounts and low finance rates, called either Privilege (for PCP deals) and Affinity (for cash sales).
A typical offer for a Panda Pop on Privilege is £7925, but Fiat will also give you £2000 towards a deposit and more for higher spec models (upto £3750) so that £99 a month is starting to look like 80 quid!
A typical Affinity offer is 17 to 20% off RRP!
Police, NHS, BT staff qualify, but so do members of IAM and British Cycling (Fiat sponser them) and that only costs £20 to join!
