Hi all,

I have purchased a Sony XPS-N1BT receiver:

and a kit from eBay which looks exactly like this:

But not sure how to install it.
I have successfully wired the receiver and it works well but don't know how to mount it in the dash..
The fascia clips from inside the dash easily but what comes next? Should I use the mounting cage or the side brackets? ..or both??

Need some guidance,

Thanks

Probably the cage, but you will just have to use whatever fits best.

The problem you might have is with depth so you will have to be careful to route the cables and any connectors in such a way that they don't prevent the double din unit from being pushed back fully.

Looks like a nice unit. Are you changing the speakers too?

not changing the speakers unfortunately - I would, but I noticed they require some adapters as well.. I'll just use the original ones for now

The problem with the cage is that it just slides inside the dashboard?
so I fixed the cage around the stereo unit with the screws included but then is it supposed to simply slide inside the dash? I can easily pull it out and don't think that's the right way of mounting it?

Thanks

Really cool!

I think pretty much all double DIN units has the same installation. Look it up on youtube.

Fitting the cage is just a case of sliding the cage in and bending back the fins to secure it. The brackets are then fitted to the head unit as per the link and the unit then slides in and locks. Just make sure you have enough room at the rear as per the post above. Have a look at the troubleshooting section of dynamic sounds website for bracket fitting instructions
