Proud owner of a Panda 100hp & off on a roadtrip (Questions)

Thought I would drop by & say hello, been on the forums for ages but never really get the chance to post much.

On Wednesday I took the plunge & bought a great condition 09 Panda 100hp with 33,000 miles on the clock for 3400.
What a brilliant car it is, I love it & I intend to cherish it just as much as my previous motor a T-Reg Seicento which I am now selling.

This leads me onto a couple of Questions really, I am off on a road trip across Europe eventually stopping in Slovakia for the winter season & a bit of snowboarding goodness.

I need to get my hands on some Steel wheels, looking at Mytyres they recommend this for a Panda 1.4 16v now im assuming they mean the 100hp?

Rim type 4-hole steel wheel
Size 5 x 14
Bolt pattern 4 x 98.00 x 58.00
Offset 35.00

Does the above seem right to you guys? I was going to pair those wheels with the Conti Winter contact TS850's as they come pretty highly rated.

Please feel free to fire any other recommendations my way.
Is there anything else I should plan on fitting/taking with me as its about 18 hours worth of driving but I want to break it down into 4/5/6 hour drives & enjoy beer/winter markets at every stop enroute

I am looking at Belgium, two stops in Germany one being Bamberg, Czech Republic & then onto Slovakia.

Thanks for any advice

Those are the correct wheels.

For the long trip I would say same prep as with any car for the long trip, and remember to take some spare oil - as service stations like to charge a fortune for it....

Enjoy the drive

If you're planning this trip between now and Easter, make sure you're doing it on the winters to avoid any trouble from the police in Germany and the other places. Otherwise, oil is a good suggestion.

Have fun with the new Panda and your trip!

Re: Proud owner of a Panda 100hp & off on a roadtrip (Questions)

The lights are not the best, Update the bulbs as recommended on here. If you can make the lamps lhd that could help but I am not sure how (maybe someone else can help). In fact I have never seen a rally type 100hp with a big rack of spotlights on the front. You will have to stop lots for fuel, it is a pain. The motorways in Czech can have huge holes so be careful although it does have some fantastic A roads. Hotels and lodgings are much cheaper in Czech than Germany. Update your maps/Tom Tom as there is also lots of road updates especially around Prague. Airbnb may be your friend.

Re: Proud owner of a Panda 100hp & off on a roadtrip (Questions)

Cheers mate duly noted, im guessing the roads in the Czech Republic are similar to what you find in Slovakia & they can be interesting at times

Kind of accepted my fate with having to refuel but im aiming to stop every 250 miles or so, so I'll try & balance petrol with where I am going to be.

So today I fitted roof bars I got off a scrap yard cheap, ordered a boot liner & various other bits & bobs & have been taking a serious look at Winter Tyres

I posted this earlier

Rim type 4-hole steel wheel
Size 5 x 14
Bolt pattern 4 x 98.00 x 58.00
Offset 35.00

eaurouge kindly confirmed this is correct but I cant get my head around tyre sizes..

I know this question gets asked all the time but searches just lead me to more confusion

Mytyres recommends 165/70 R14 or 175/65 R14 whilst the manual & oponeo states Alloys & 185/55 R14 80T what should I actually be using?

Cheers

Dan

Panda 100HP manual is here, have a look:

https://www.fiat-lancia.org.rs/Manua.../100015518.pdf

For winter wheels it says this:

Available at common retailers: alloy rims 5.5 J x 14ET32 with winter tyres 185/55 R14 80T (M+S).

I run 195/50 15's in summer and 185/60 14's in winter.
