Back in 2010 when we went to pick up our 1.1 Active from the dealer, we did the usual thing of hiding our trade in as far back in the rear compound as we could.
Next to where I parked it was a early, dark blue 1.2 Dymanic.
It caught my eye as it looked a very sorry for it's self and exactly the same year, colour and model as my sisters.
Her in doors was a bit taken aback ours might soon end up like this!
Joking with the salewoman, she mentioned originally selling it back in 2004 and the first she saw the owner again was the week before when he came in to trade up for another Panda.
Inside it was totally shot through, but just from the driving postion.
The drivers seat cover had worn through, mat and carpet worn completely through to the metal, the steering wheel, gear lever and gaiter looked rotten.
It also looked like it had never been cleaned, inside or out, but it was clear to see the rears and passenger seats were untouched.
The salewoman worked out it had averaged 130 miles a day for 6 years!
They didn't get or could find any record of servicing and all the owner passed them was a couple of MOT certificates, which seemed to back up the mileage.
She mentioned the workshop manager reckoned it just needed a back box to get another MOT and one of their trainees had his eye on it.
Me and the Mrs joked as we jumped into our new (3 year old) Panda, hoping to get the same out of it, that is until the first bump in the road and we noticed the knackered rear shock bush!
Everytime I see I dark blue one now, I kind of hope it's that one!
