:confused:When I use the central locking to lock the doors, the boot release catch releases - not secure. Also the key fob light flashes for a minute or so afterwards. Any ideas to resolve?

If it is the remote, then get a new one that looks identical on Ebay. Take the new one apart and you will see that the bits that you press come off easily if you push them from inside. Put the new ones on your old keyfob. I think the problem is more likely to be the microswitch in the boot opening mechanism.

I'd still say it was the micro-switch. Why would using the key fob to lock the car cause the boot to open? Mine started opening itself randomly even when I was driving when the switch went. This was followed by locking and refusing to open at all.

Just had another thought, try locking the car with the key, not remotely, to eliminate tailgate switch from the equation. I had trouble with my keyfob some time back and before getting a new body for it, I prised the external diaphragms out of the fob with a thin knife blade, carefully. I softened them in boiling water and pressed the centres outwards a bit. It worked for a while but they stiffen with age and press down on the switches inside.

Wager that it is the key fob too. Easy to check. The little push button might be itself sticky but more likely the rubber part as described below
