Been a silly boy.

The scuttle (area below the windscreen, houses the wiper mechanism and heater intake) was filling with water, so I removed the little drain tubes form the scuttle to clean out the 'compost' in them.

They have got old and brittle, so I ordered new ones. Now they've arrived and I've forgotten which way they face.

So please anyone, how should they fit.
a) both face outwards
b) both face inwards
c) both face to the left
d) both face to the right

Meanwhile, I'll stand in the corner and face the wall.

Hmm, I fitted mine with the funnels pointing inwards.

I guess it doesn't matter much as they are sliced along the whole bottom part and as long as they are clean it doesn't matter much?

I may fit them the right way around if I get some new clips for the scuttle panel as I am worried of breaking more clips if I remove it again!

Can I ask, what would happen if you removed the duck bills and left the gulley without them, enabling the water to drain freely?

The insulation material that is around the holes would get soaked.

By the way does anyone know the part numbers for the plastic white clips (around 8 or 9 of them IIRC) that hold the scuttle panel under the windscreen?

I need to order a couple.

Thanks.

I've probably got a couple spare, fpan. Whereabouts are you?

Hi, I've just checked mine.
They have never been disturbed, as in removed.
The round end points towards offside wing. This applies to both drain rubbers, nearside and offside.
Hope that helps.

I misunderstood you, so do the long protrusions/funnels both point towards the offside wing?

Yes, the rounded "bulbs" both point towards the offside wing.
There are two of them, as you already know.
