General Number of Pandas

General Number of Pandas

I know the 2004-2012 Panda 1.3 Multijet diesel is becoming quite rare. The cars have short life expectancy due to engine problems.

Cam chains going at less than 100,000 miles, nobody expects a cam chain to break as chains are expected to last as long as the engine. Result engine wrecked car written off.

Rain water getting into air filter and thus into cylinders wrecking the engine, car written off.

Short life clutches. Cost of a new clutch change dual mass flywheels etc often more than cars worth.

Cylinder heads tend to get blown. Expensive repair and skimming more than the cars worth.

Immobiliser and ignition key failure. Expensive repair. More than cars worth.

Well i know where 3 of them are, in my drive :)

05 dynamic with skydome with 90K miles
05 eleganza with 110k miles
07 4x4 with 120k miles

Who says fiats are unreliable? All run, drive and work perfect :slayer:

I haven't seen a panda in my whole, though I've been wanting to see on since I was 3 years old. They're really cute and adorable and I've always wanted to own one. sigh! I hope I can cross it out on my bucket list one day. :)

The fleets in then:

So that's a 100hp with 28k on the clock

an Alessi with 98k

and a 4x4 climbing with 96k.

I'm very lucky (and a bit greedy) to have such a collection :)

Named already as James, Jaffa and Jacko.

Amazing that these cars with the same basic DNA can all be so different! :D

The 100hp is gorgeous... you that own one are so lucky.
I find all 169 beautiful especially if they are metallic grey.
The 169 is so much better looking than the new Panda model (n)

56 Plate 1.2 blue Eleganza - had it for just over three years now, and the only non-consumable issue was blocked drains in the bulkhead which caused rainwater to come in and soak the carpets. Fixed that with the help of you guys. A knife to the plastic beak and dry rice sorted it out. Although I think it might also need a new battery as it occasionally throws fake power steering errors and excess engine temp when starting when its below zero.

However, I'm about to trade it in for a 10 plate 44K big mirror grey 100HP at the weekend. It's got the pandamonium kit and silver roof rails fitted and was overpriced by Arnold Clark, but they gave me a ridiculous trade in to make up for it, and are replacing the cambelt as part of the deal. I think they were impressed by the wash and valet I gave mine before going down to see it, well that and the one previous owner, 33K miles and full service history. If anyone wants it, it'll be in Kilmarnock Ford. I'll miss the comfort, but not the wobbling about in cross winds.

Hi, just bought a 2010 (60) 100HP, 48k, black. I'm in South Devon.
Very pleased with it so far. Great fun to drive. Reminds me a bit of the Mini Cooper S I used to have (the Panda isn't as fast, but still great fun).
Just making a list of things to do:
Tracking needs looking at I think (record of some uneven front tyre wear, sounds a common issue).
Cambelt and water pump hasn't been done, sounds like it is due around now.
Is it worth upgrading the air filter?
Washer jet on drivers side seems to spray over the windscreen onto roof! Is there a fix for this?
Thanks
Adam

Welcome to the 100HP club!

I'd just get some new washer jets from eBay, they're a fiver and will save hassle messing around with the old ones.

Hi,

I bought a 100hp panda in December when I passed my test and loved every second of it. I have a cat back straight pipe all the way back to a cherrybomb muffler

Thanks

Adam

I bought myself a 100hp over the weekend 2010 in black with only 27k on the clock. My first job after christmas will be to change the cam belt and water pump as i doubt its ever been changedImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1446020237.026829.jpg

One less Panda on the road in Cumbria now. Poor thing spent Saturday night under a metre of water. Getting replaced by another Panda though!

As I travel around I see very few of the new Panda's around, does anyone know how many have been sold in this country?

They seem to be increasing in Somerset/ Bristol. I'm hoping they'll be at least one new or Classic at Bristol Italian Auto Motor Festival this year (morning of 23rd April 2016, Corn Street, Bristol).

At least four within a mile of Rettendon where I live, three are white......

hi

I'm now part of the 100hp club with a 2004 in black with 91000 miles. So far so good!
