The acylic sealants used for car body panel sealing are extremely tough. I used the black stuff to repair kid's school shoes when the moulded soles separate from the uppers. It never fails and anyone who has kids knows how hard they are on shoes.

The one pack stuff won't set properly if shoved in as a thick lump, but layers applied hour by hour work fine. That allows the moisture curing to take place and gives a strong finished job.
