Guys I'm about to order 4 rainsport 3 upon reading the countless posts on how good they are. they are going to replace the OEM spec Goodyear eagle F1s.

now looking on my tires there are two types for the 195/50/15 fitment. one rated at 82v and 82h speed ratings.

the 82v is rated at 149mph and priced at 42.80 each
the 82h is rated at 140mph and priced at 43.40 each

I know the speed rating doesn't matter to the 100hp but does anyone know the actual difference and what is recommended

I'm thinking they are constructed differently so Am I better off with the possibly safer and better made 82v?

Just swapped back mine to summers. Such a relief.

Mine are V-rated Rainsport 2s.

That said, as mine is white (not red or primer) it easily reaches 149mph. Uphill.

bit early isn't it? there was still ice on my windscreen 2 days ago
I have merely done it to guarantee heavy snow for all the 4x4 owners who've been pining for some.......

I have a full set on my punto
185/55/15 82v

Since v is a faster speed vs h and cheaper id stick v's
Win win there

The desigb looks odd that 1side would pull water in vs out but uni royal says it wont.....

When new tho they are little bitches for picking up small stones and giving the click click click as its stuck and spinning around

But after they scrub in I like them
Im back on them early due to a puncture writing one off....

Bit early for that! I'll be keeping mine on for another while yet. It's only a couple of years since we had over a foot of snow at the end of March.

Cheers guys

got a set of 82v ordered through my tires. hopefully i wont regret not sticking with the 45 profile tires @!!

why did you not get them from camskill? they can normally beat my tyres on price and are a british company

No one told me ? but nvm. order has since been cancelled through my tires. once payment has been returned I'll order through camskill. whole order works out over 30 cheaper.

Not bad saving for one phone call

happy days

I fitted rainsport 3 195 50's about a month ago and don't regret it at all. Think I got them from camskill. I fitted them primarily to help the sometimes harsh ride which it does improve but not to any great extent. Wasn't sure about the look at first (with the higher profile) but I'm fine with it now. They certainly grip well but you can still spin the tyres around corners in second gear. I hear they get really grippy with warmer weather. Just received new Koni str/t dampers which I'm hoping will further improve the ride.

Nice. the chunkier look does take getting use to but a new proper tire at 32.50 is cheap as chips. Camskill currently out of stock so gotta wait.

If you have just got str.t for the rear. I initially would have said there was no improvement to ride. But after a bedding in period there is a marked improvement. not loads and people who have never been in the car will still find it harsh. I have now noticed the rear end tamed and there is a degree of suppleness. the biggest improvement is over speed bumps. I use to crawl over them and when the rear got over the bump there was a sharp crash back to the surface When on OE shocks.now it's much much better. It's smooth now

when the fronts need replacing I'm going str. t too
