I'm going to be changing the timing belt in the next week or so just wondered if anyone could recommend any of these 3 timing tool kits off ebay can I getaway with the cheaper kit?

For past experience, every branded belt ive got has been fine, you'll lose out on water pump quality and tensioner quality with a cheap kit. For the water pump Fiat has to be the best.

Saying that, people on here recommended a gates kit + wp for my 1.2 and I was impressed with the quality.

You'll remember the day you decided to go budget on the water pump when it lasts 2 years. I back street garage put a cheapo wp on my old panda and after 6 months it needed redoing.

before you edited i assumed you meant the belt kit, not the locking kit.!

How often (miles/years) does the belt, idler, tensioner and water pump need changing and how difficult job is it to do oneself?
