Hi
I recently bought a 2007 panda multijet. On looking at the oil filler cap I noticed a wire had been unplugged from somewhere and twisted around the oil filler tube.

The wire splits from a main loom on the offside and has rectangular shaped plug on the end.

I have shown a link which may help. It's the cable in bottom left that splits from a curved main loom and disappears below the oil filler cap.

My thoughts are that the seller has disconnected it to cancel out a warning light. I mean the vehicle drives well but it could be causing damage to the engine over time. (I once had a vw lupo and I disconnected the EGR to stop the car cutting out. It worked but the engine over years got cooked and the piston rings etc and valve seals wore.) I don't want this to happen to my new multijet.

Does anyone know where the wire is meant to plug into? I thought at first it was for the EGR but the EGR is on the other side of the engine on the near side.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It may be innocent. Prowl around the wiring loom from front to back and you'll discover loads of plugs on the end of loom extensions, doing nowt.

Best to be sure in this instance though. Be interested to see what the experts here discover.

Maybe it's the wire that connects to the fuel pressure rail?
It's possible that the previous owner connected a tuning box (a performance mod) but has now removed it without reconnecting the factory setup.

The plugs/box look something like this:

Wouldn't be running at all then...
Might be the plug for the watersensor under the fuelfilter.
