Technical What tyres for my 100HP?

I hadn't really thought of the Toyos before, so I'll check them out.

Aren't T1-R sizes that fail to meet the step-up in EU tyre regs due to be banned from sale this year?
Do you think prices will fall, due to obsolescence - or rise, due to panic buying?

More food for thought I see. And I guess the more people that respond the more varying opinions I'll get, which all part of the fun I guess!

I'm not sure comparing what is on an Exige is relevant to what is suitable for a Panda 100HP though! I've got AD07's (I may consider AD08's in the future) on my Elise and they are great tyres, but it doesn't mean I'd consider them for the Panda.

Au contraire... both the Exige and 100HP are drivers cars and of all the cars I've owned the HP is the most sensitive to tyre choice.

I'll be doing several sprints / hillclimbs / track days this year so will need a tyre that can last on track and road. Plus being competitive would help... if it was a pure road car I wouldn't be thinking that the yokos are necessarily the best answer.

Not disagreeing that it may be sensible choice. My point was every car is different. If I didn't think the Panda was different I wouldn't be asking in the first place, as I've owned plenty of cars with and had different makes of tyres. It's just that the 100HP is the first FWD car I've owned since 1998, when I had a Pug 106XSi!

My 100HP is the car I use for commuting, albeit my route is mainly cross-country, so I need some compromise.

The old green-grocer ran out of tomatoes, and the first task for his new lad was to go to the wholesale market for two boxes of tomatoes. When the lad returned he told him to ticket price one box cheap and one box dear. Puzzled by this, the lad queried the price variation - given that both batches of tomatoes were exactly the same quality. The old green-grocer smiled and replied: “Because I like to keep my customers happy - and some are happy to buy cheap tomatoes, and some are happy to buy dear tomatoes.”

The Uniroyal RS3 195/50R15 (E-A-71dB) on offer by Camskills @ £35 look attractive to me – or you could pay more than double that for Yoko AD08 (F-B-75dB) exc earplugs.

Hope you use real leather 'persuaders' for the beggars old boy. !!!!!!!. you just cannot get the staff these days, what ? :bang:

One of our 'tweenies' got herself 'caught' ... ungrateful wench...
Will have to get the man with the Beemer to get us a new one..

I have Yokohama S-Drive's fitted. The harder side wall reduces the wobbly feeling during cornering. In the dry they are only beatable by semi slicks. In the wet the tire does ok. Think that the Uniroyals are better wet weather tires..

Pleased to here the S drives are looking good. I like the F1s even in the wet, you have to plan and drive it.
But I agree with Dan, spare wheels and rain sports. I am hoping/have, to swap to Yokos soon.
