Hi there!

I recently bought a secondhand Fiat Panda 2005 Dynamic. It's a lovely car but I've been having some trouble with the interior fan. It stopped working suddenly but this was easily fixed by replacing the fuse. After a few days though the fuse blew again. I have some suspicions that the fuse blows when the fan is on in conjunction with the CD player/wipers (but still need to test this theory!).

My real concern though is that the fan has now started making a whistling sound when it is on. I found a previous thread about oiling the fan to remedy the squealing however the sound in conjunction with the fuse constantly blowing is making me seek other opinions!

Is this something sinister that I need to be concerned about? Is the motor about to burn out? Or is it just a Panda foible?

I'd appreciate any advice you all have to offer! Thanks in advance!

Seems to me the fan motor bearings are running dry, which would both cause it to squeak & put sufficient extra load on the motor to draw enough current to blow the fuse.

Oiling the fan bearings ought to cure both issues, but if the fuse still keeps blowing, then you may soon have to replace the fan motor. Ought to be cheap enough from a breaker.

Great! Thanks for your response! Will give it a bash this week and report back!
