I know this can be a common problem but my 100hp's driver seat seems to have sunken in in the centre area of the back. When you sit in it and put your hand round the back of the seat you can feel bits of metal spring sticking out. Also the steel framing from side bolster (handbrake side) seems to have come through the foam because of this. Does anyone know roughly what the cost is to repair and is it a dealer job?

Can't help you with a solution, but I can definitely feel the crossbar at the base of the rear of our drivers seat becoming more noticeable too. I've found that raising the lower bolster hides the problem, but that isn't really a fix.....

I have a small hole on the rear of the seat where the metal bolster had worn/rubbed through. Pretty annoyed about it to be fair

Update.

I looked on the internet but had no luck so went to the Fiat dealer to book it in for next Thursday to sort it out - £650.

Ouch.

Ooof ... Get a pair of abarth 500 seats for that surely? The bar is getting noticeable in the lumbar section on mine too and the base adjustment has broken, living with it for now but will need solving soon!

I want to keep it original though.

I'll be interested to know what the dealership actually does to resolve it.

For £650 I'd expect to brand new front seats!

I know. It still hasn't sunk in yet.

Perhaps an upholsteryspecialist can get them better than new for less.
I think it's the foam desintegrating.
