I have bought a cheap part ex 55reg Panda 1.1 Active with 68K miles off ebay from a garage. It only cost me £775 but it hasn't got any service history. The mileage seems correct because it has all the old MOT's.

Before I drive it anywhere it's going to need a thorough clean. There is a reason it was cheap - it is utterly disgusting inside, filthy dirty and reeking of dogs. But the seats and interior trim all seem undamaged so after I have taken the whole inside, out and washed it, I think it should be OK.

After that it will need a service with oil, air filter and plugs and then a check of how much is left on the brake pads. I could however do with some advice on what oil I should use and what else I should check and/or service on a vehicle of this age and mileage.

Thanks,
Andrew

Molygadevin or slick 50 oil additive after full oil change helps smooth off any poor driving skills from prdvious owner obviously if gears or engine wear is excessive wont solve that good start though. Run it on v power for a full tank maybe 2 help clean out carbon deposits.

Timing belt might be due a change. Usual service, oil is 10w40 Fully / Semi (down to choice), some even use 5w40, but I'm a 10w40 myself.

Do add any adatives, often snake oil, and can in some cases do more harm than good. Better off with an oil change, and doing it again a few K miles later as a flush if you're that fussed, but the 1108cc FIRE engine is a fairly robust and bullet proof lump :)

Check the condition of your front suspension bushes. I've replaced mine at 67,000 miles.
Also check the rears!
