Is it a 'centre console off' job?

Secondly, the blank button where some cars have the ESP button, is it possible to use that switch for something else? I'd quite like to use it as a subwoofer ON/OFF switch.

I would imagine you could do that with the blank.

IIRC those with ESP couldn't turn it off though.

I think you're getting confused :p

The cars with ESP can turn the ESP off but the car will still intervene if you get really sideways (so not really off), it has nothing to do with the actual button :)

No, as Maxi has said above, it's only the ASR which you can deactive.

OP, you can either wedge a screwdriver down the side of it to pull it out, or remove the head unit and push the switch pack out from behind. You won't be able to use the blanks as switches though unless you physically install a switch there (y)

What switch are you needing to mount

It's for my new NOS system... (I wish)

I want a switch for my underseat subwoofer. I want it to be on when I'm listening to music on the radio but off when the DJ is talking. At the moment I have to go into a menu on the head unit to turn it right down which is a bit of a pain when you're driving!

You've something not setup quite right then, no issues with sub and voice over with my setup.
