Anyone ever come across this before.

I am changing my Seicento for a 2011 Panda MyLife next week or i think its a MyLife and here is where it gets confusing.

I have seen this car in person and I can confirm it has Aircon, alloys, remote central locking and a 12v accessory socket which would make the car a MyLife, however the registration number comes back as an Active model?? I put the reg into confused.com for quotes and it comes back as an active, the tyre websites list tyre sizes for the active.

Now here is where it gets extra confusing I have put the VIN number into a website and it comes back with a whole list for this car but i shall put the relevant ones in.

Catalog description Panda my 2011 (2010-2011)
Mvs desctiption 2v.1.2 bz. e5 l1-active gd.5m.ru/i
Trim level [ll1] lev. 1 (active )

But now look at the listed extras

250 [823] 12 v power socket
36e [431] alloy wheels extra series 1
0ec [025] climate control 1
56d [008] lock and unlock door remote control
E52 [876] specific bumpers

Here is a link to the car on the dealers website

http://www.bristolstreet.co.uk/used-car/558221/fiat-panda-1-2-69-active-5dr-petrol-hatchback

Now this car is coming from a main dealer with 3 years warranty and GAP insurance so I'm not too worried, just confused.

Were the early MyLife's registered as actives due to there not being a Mylife option at the time or is something amiss here. I know MyLifes are just actives with a few extra options so maybe they were sold as actives before they officially became their own trim level, car was registered 30/03/11 so i think quite early for the newer 69HP engine models.

Anyone with a mylife have a similar experience to me?

Also could this cause problems with insurance should i be in an accident situation, i wouldn't want a small technicality to prevent payout should the worst happen.

Any help appreciated

Thanks.

I had the same problem with my 61 plate Mylife. I think the issue is that the people who run these car databases regard it as a special edition and not a distinct model type. If you look at the details on the dealer web-site even they say the car has 13" steel wheels though they are clearly not in the photos of the.
You will find some car databases do have Mylife in them. I ended us using Tesco car insurance and did call them up as I needed to discuss a few points with them and they had the Mylife in their database.

You look as though you have a nice car, not sure why they don't disclose the mileage. It looks like about 30K to me which is a bit high for the year but no big deal. Since buying mine I have "upgraded" it in three ways, a locking filler car, some proper Fiat touch-up paint (about the same price as gold) and a radio with a USB port, all you need is an aerial adaptor.

All the best

Its 31100 to be precise with a few more due to go on as its in their macclesfield branch and needs to be driven down to northampton for me, i saw it here a few weeks ago priced at £5500 now its only £5000.

As for stereo I have a Sony MEX BT3800U ready to go in as its in the seicento at the moment, i'm not trading in either so i have time to take it out properly.

I was thinking about a key matched locking filling cap direct from fiat but not sure how much they cost.

I'm getting a pretty sweet deal on this particular car though as I have a shocking credit score i am getting it for £154 a month over 5 years but that has a 3 year dealer warranty and gap insurance, this is much better than the finance deal Motorpoint got me on a similarly priced mylife which was £198 a month for 4 years with just standard used warranty.

I know if i had a good credit score then i would be able to get the car for probably about half that a month but to be honest i am just happy i have been accepted with monthly payments i can afford as motorbike and ipad finished paying off this month.

I need a new car though as the Seicento needs a bit of work doing to it and i think it will cost a fair bit to keep on the road come MOT time.

Close enough.

The original registration form (V55) is full of codes that identify the model and spec. The registration of the vehicle is not as precise as you might hope. Special editions, (which the MyLife will be classed as by Fiat and DVLA), are registered using the codes of the model they are based on. This means that any databases will show specs like the wheels as for the normal model. As am exapmle my Alessi is shown as an Eleganza, but has steel wheels for the Alessi wheel trims.

Ahh so if i give my insurance co my registration number then they have all the relevant details about the car and i will be covered properly, thats good and puts my mind at ease a bit.

Regarding the locking filler cap, you won't be able to get one with key that matches your's but even at a Fiat dealer they are less than £20. What get's me is why Fiat didn't fit one in the first place. Anyway enjoy your Mylife, I think the spec makes them a real steal.

All the best

Yeah I'm hoping the test drive goes good and all the financial stuff goes to plan, but i think thats my next car.

I havent actually driven the car yet, i saw it a few weeks ago and looked it over and was impressed but wasn't in a position to buy and now that i am i'm amazed that its still available i just hope there is nothing sinister lurking and thats why nobody else has brought it yet. Then again if something was wrong they wouldn't be allowed to sell it, plus with a 3 year warranty i'm covered incase something does go wrong.

Ouch!

That's £9240 .

That would leave a sour taste in my mouth - a 2011 Mylife with 31k is worth £4500 at the very most & that's top book at a franchised dealer.

Remember when these cars were new the dealers had to discount by 25%+ to get them out of the showroom.

They're still good cars, just be careful not to pay over the odds for one.

3 year warranty and gap insurance takes the purchase price upto £6500 but finance company says i have to have them, and to be honest im glad i will have them, infact just checking i think i have a 4 year warranty as it has 1 year listed then separately 3 years on top of that.

I know i will be paying a lot for the car but both me and my wife have crap credit scores, I dont earn much and my wife has a CCJ and defaults so to get accepted at all was a miracle.

I need a new car as the last couple of years the seicento has cost me a few hundred quid each MOT time and i dont wanna put that much money into a car thats only worth around £500 tops, plus the Panda has Aircon and with summer approaching and having a 2 year old that will be a much needed nicety.

Plus i am the sort of person that will run a car into the ground, hence the seicento still going so i intend on keeping the panda way past the 5 year finance mark, so even though it is expensive i will get my moneys worth out of it.

That's only about £300 less than it was probably sold for when new.

My heart goes out to you - I never appreciated how difficult it is to get a decent set of wheels for a fair price when you're struggling to raise the finance. I hope it all works out for you.

Yeah i know, the MyLifes were quite cheap when new but hold their value extremely well lol.

Im gutted because the place i'm getting it from had a 0% finance on all used cars deal which would have been great, but alas not for me due to credit score but as i said i am just happy to have been able to be accepted so i can actually get a new car.

Hopefully my credit score will go up soon, it should have done by now but i have had some problems the beginning of this year. I have paid various loans off recently but due to moving to a new job with less hours to look after little one and new job messing my hours about it has caused me to miss a couple of credit card payments which hammered my score down again, but these are now back up to date so the score should go back up soon I hope.

Its just a shame i don't have the luxury of being able to wait to get a new car but with the amount of work the seicento will need to pass its next MOT there was no way i could raise that kind of money in one go hence the rush for a new car with manageable monthly payments.

No, you need to tell them it's a my life and not an active and check that theyre happy with this.

Ahh no problems, I don't see why it should be an issue and i don't think the MyLife would be much more to insure either since its practically the same car but with aircon and alloys.

I wonder how i tell the gap insurance as the dealer sets that up and they have it listed as an active and the registration document says its an active as well.

On the subject of Alloys are the ones on the MyLife attached by locking wheel nuts like the factory fit alloys on my wifes meriva? I havent looked under the flappy thing yet.
