Anyone Know What This Is?

2006 Fiat Panda 100hp - 55900 miles

Just driven home and something has happened to the car.

I was at some lights and accelerated hard from a standstill, it was wet so I got some shudder as their was little traction. Didn't notice anything at first due to stereo being on etc.

Next lights I noticed engine sound was a little louder and after putting the window down and turning the music down the car sounded very raspy on the go, like someone had played around with the exhaust. Is this just a blowing exhaust and the shuddering from the quick pull off has rattled a piece of the exhaust off?

Seems to have power and drives just like it did. Just sounds like a boy racer in his Nova now.

Any Ideas?

It sounds like either the exhaust flexi has broken or a joint has opened up with the hard acceleration,if you have the engine running and look around underneath you should hear or even feel the leak.

I'd check your engine mountings as well - no good fixing the exhaust if engine movement damages it again. Sounds as though wheels spun and then gripped suddenly, putting strain on the mountings.
