Thanks to the lovely bin men, I have had to cancel all my jobs as I have no drivers side mirror. They have smashed it off.

I am going to order a new one, but before I do I can't work out how to get the interior fittings off where the cable comes through.

Any idea how I replace a wing mirror?

Its the new type mirror (2010).

The Door Mirror is removed by pulling the internal trim off (slightly more difficult with the door card in place, but not undoable). Then need to unscrew a rather large washer like thing which holds the outside piece in place. Then need to yank at the external housing.

The large washer nut thing also seems to be made like a childproof lid, so very difficult to do. :bang:

Remember seeing this post, when contemplating upgrading to the bigger mirrors (which seemed a b*tch: so didn't...): not sure if it helps, though....

You are doing it right, its just an absoloute **** to do

I always got my old man to do it on ours, I think he used mole grips in the end.

Looks like the mirror I have ordered is the wrong sodding one. It has the same part code as a 2003 one .

To top it off FIAT want £102 for the proper mirror. I am mad.

Have I missed a point here, You say the bin men knocked it off. Therefore send the bill for the mirror plus fitting to them.

Simple tell them they have 10 working days to settle your claim after which you will issue a summons in your local county court.

Head your letter with (Without prejudice) This always gives the impression you know a little about the law.

I expect for the amount involved they will pay up rather than waste time defending any action.
