General New bumper trim discolouration after 1 week

Hello

I've had my 2009 Active Eco 1.1 Panda (in blue) for about 10 months now. Last month someone hit me from behind whilst waiting to pull out of junction. I got my Panda back last week where the garage replaced the bumper and the rear trim/liner.

We've had lots of rain over the last 48 hours or so, and I realised yesterday the rear black trim which was replaced last week is going discoloured (almost a very light blue colour).

Has anyone heard of this, and now what the cause might be? The previous trim never had any discolouration and I need to know if it is something to be worried about/get the garage to sort it out before the insurance claim is closed. I wonder if they used a cheaper type of plastic which can get discoloured but I don't think it should be doing this after 1 week.

Could it be paint overspray -- i.e. is it the same colour as the paintwork...? -- that's been hidden (until now) by some black trim detailer (or even tyre black...)?

I'd take it back to the garage, if I were you; state that you're unhappy; and ask them to replace the trim. Have a good look, first, though, to make sure that nothing else is obviously wrong. If they don't play ball, I'd be tempted, then, to involve Trading Standards... -- hopefully, though, they'll do the right thing....
