Bought 2004 model dualogic Fiat panda 10 days ago, first 2 days no issues. I installed telematics clear box as it was requirement for my insurance company. From that day facing some problems with gearbox. I was in auto mode, dropped speed from 50 to 20 and gear itself changed to neautral, today was driving in manual mode same problem occured when tried to change 2nd to 3rd gear. Also once got gearbox failure message, which was corrected after restart.
I feel its like electrnoic problem, and may be the telematic box is draining battery which causing electrics to fail?

Pandablue: My assumption of low battery may be wrong as gearchange to neatral has happened to me after 30 minutes of driving, which perhaps is enough to charge battery.
Easterly: Being new driver I dont know how to check selespeed fluid level? I will try to google for it or you may drop me instruction how to check it?

thanks

1/2 hour of driving won't necessarily charge a "flat" battery, but anyhoo, if you're completely new to doing the poking under the bonnet bit I'd be inclined to suggest, in this instance, that you get yourself along to a garage.
No warning lights coming up at all?

easterly: I will look manual thanx.

PandaBlue: Warning lights go away as soon as I start engine, I guess in such case I can ignore warning lights?

Yes, you can, but while you're reading the manual for gearbox information, take a look at the warning light statements too - I'd hate you to be driving and miss anything important

Hi did you ever sort this? We seem to have an identical problem with our 2008 Panda, after bags of reading here I still can't find any possible answers so fingers-crossed you may have a clue...?

It happened to me few times last year, I noticed that once it went to neautral, in few seconds ones car speed is under 30 miles, if you do up shift of gear it selects 3rd gear, and then u can carry on. Luckily in last few months it has not happened, so possibly it was some temporary issue, never gone to mechanic.

If it's once in a blue moon I wouldn't worry to much about it. Someone has just had similar happening with their 500 in the 500 section, and dealer replaced the gearbox ECU under warranty as it was issues with the connections to it or something, and this seems to have resolved their issue.

first of all hello to everyone,

I got a little question to you. I would appreciate it if you can help me solve my problem out. because I really start to hate this car.

here is the thing. I owe a 2005 1.2 panda duologic and I have the massage on the screen 'gearbox fail'. this following problem occured. The engine doesn't work under load. It can start when the gear is 'N'. but when I take it to the '1' gear. If I don't give full gas, the engine stops immediately. even if I give gas, it stops too. the same problem is there by slowing down too. The gear comes from '3' to '2' to '1' and when the car almost stops, the engine stops again.

I am really begging you. I would be very happy if you give me any suggestion to solve it. It seems electronical failure. thank you.
