General Planning to buy 100HP

Okay guys, sold on the 100HP idea. I will be buying one. Can't wait!

Strange question perhaps for a fella, but what colour? The spec is fairly standard so this is one of the remaining choices (other than the very tempting subwoofer and skydome).

The original thoughts were to go for electroclash grey but, as it's such a fun car, I quite fancy bright red (with a skydome ideally). Thoughts?

I know you can't be too choosy in the second hand market, but time is on my side as I have two months until I actually need a second car.

Cheers guys (& girls!)

With colour its all about personal choice of course. It didnt take me a long time to decide and this is my personal view.

I didnt like black at all because it doesnt stand out as the bodykit and blacked out windows just blend it with the paint. From a distance it just looks like a regular Panda, its the one to go far if you want stealth. In red it looks like a small van probably driven by a postman named Pat.I have never liked white anyway but the 100HP does look pretty good in white.I really love the blue that Fiat uses and it was a close call and I nearly went for it.But I wanted the pandemonium pack and I dont like the look of red calipers on a blue car. So I obviously went for grey and im so glad I did because it looks fantastic. The car isnt too dark and the bodykit and blacked out windows really pop.And the pandemonium red calipers and silver side stripe really suit the car.It also has the advantage of being an exclusive colour to the 100HP until 2010 when it was added to the rest of the Panda range.

Thats just my personal view but the 100HP is good looking car whatever colour you choose.

57 reg, 23,176, just old enough for the blue badges, £4,699... I can't help but think it's too cheap, but it's within an hour so we're going to go and have a look tomorrow anyway.

For comparison... another new orleans blue with 3,000 more miles, but on an 08 plate (up to six month older), just young enough for the red badges, £5,299.

Was interested in the red one on Autotrader with the Skydome at £5,750. '59 plate, 13k miles.

Was hoping to see it today & talk him down to closer to £5,250, but called him last night and it had sold. At £5,700!

The Motorhouse

57 reg 23,176 miles new orleans blue

Sounds like a tractor, coolant below minimum (undertray prevents checking if the rad is dripping). Check engine light is on, needs new discs and pads all round.

And a £99.95 charge to prep it before you can drive it away which they forgot to put on the website...

One for everyone else to avoid there.

Fords of Windsford can't be bothered to remove sold cars from AutoTrader or their own website once sold. Time wasters.

Did see a sign for "thrush way" while I was out there though :D

Dan, what a waste of a day! Pity. Guess that's the benefit of a main dealer. They wouldn't even entertain selling on a dog like that. They'd just auction off any trade in that's below par.

I tend to like PistonHeads for private sales too. Tend to be enthusiasts on there.

I did see the other red one, thanks. Hemel isn't far for me so may have a look at it tomorrow. Just a bit high on the mileage for me. Would only be interested if it is immaculate and has obviously been very well cared for.

If anyone knows of any grey or blue 100HPs with a SkyDome roof for sale, let me know!!

Cheers,
Dunc.

The one at the Motorhouse looked fine. One tiny stone chip on the bonnet, tiny mark on two alloys, paint rubbed off the gear stick. Very good for a 57 reg. Just the mechanical problems. Shame, I would have had it otherwise, with their £100 charge and 12 months put on it it still would have come in just under five grand.

TBH I think you're severely restricting yourself if you're insisting on a skydome, I'm having enough trouble by trying for a blue one.

I agree. Have only seen two Skydome ones for sale in three weeks looking, so I think you are right.

I saw Plug's blue one earlier today - members motors - and it looked STUNNING! Was thinking red or grey but blue definitely in the frame now. Good job we're a few miles apart or we'd be after the same car!

If the right car comes up, the Skydome would, of course, have to be left out! The only thing in my favour is that I don't need to buy until the end of July. But, come Aug we need two cars.

The reason I'm after a sunroof is that it's the only thing I regret not speccing on my Octavia when choosing options...........

Aircon is great, especially when at speed, but you can't beat fresh air in the summer!

Good luck with your hunt for the right car!
