Right ive tried the previous posts. But i want to have a look myself/ try fix it.

As of tonight, My panda just suddenly stopped blowing hot air from the vents.

No idea why, Realy odd. And no strange events leading up to it. Was fine driving this morning.

Its got climate/ aircon. the whole digital system...

Anyone got any ideas?

Wheres the cold/hot flap/ acutator? its blowing cold air alot! otherwisse the system seems fine, Switches on and off, All different variations work. Its all just cold....

right. I've run the thing up. Bled it. All good.
Heater matrix. / pipes getting hot under left hand side of heater.

Tracked. Down the hot/cold actuator to just by the clutch pedal. That also seems to be working.
Or at least trying to. It makes a noise between hot and lo. But doesn't make any noise as you select higher.and higher temps.... Making me think it's not opening the flap for hot air correctly...

nope to both.. Heater getting hot. Water getting round, just won't come out the vents.... What you thinking then?

Mine started doing this last year when it was getting warmer but at the moment it seems to be ok so far this year. I had a look underneath by the clutch pedal too and could also hear the flaps opening. Does hot air come out when set to MAX? Mine would only come out at over 30 deg or so. I have a feeling it might be a faulty temperature sensor for the heating system but I didn't manage to locate one. Mine too runs fine.

Well it seems ive found the culpret this morning.

The actuator on the side nearest the clutch pedal.

Although moving properly. Wasnt moving the flap inside the heater as its snapped where it comes out of the heater...

£988!!! at fiat.

Going to try a few breakers as although the stealer said they are 100hp specific.
I doubted this... and when he clicked heater details , my suspicions were confirmed as it said NOT MODEL SPECIFIC in bold at the top

Just need the flap... Not the whole damn heater...

Anyone know how to remove the dash :bang:

some time ago I came across this: (it's for a Ford F150 heater core replacement) but at min 3:25 he talks about a part that I think is the problem with your car(the blend door). if nothing else the clips will give you an idea of how much work it might be to get to it(it really depends on the car).

now I assume that the £988 is with labor included, since it's a lot of work to change it, so you might consider getting a new part since an old one might have the same problem, and really, this is not a job you want to do twice.
and again, download the Panda eLEARN (I'm not home now and don't have it installed here, but I assume they show you how to take the dash apart)

if you decide to do it yourself, please let us know how much time it took to change it and the difficulty

Cheers for the reply.. Appriciate it.

The 988quid wasnt including labour.

That was me buying it, taking it away and fitting... the price was the heater box , No electrics, no heater core , nothing...

Just some cheap moulded plastic... realy realy over the top pricing...

Managed to fix it in the end but it wasnt easy.. And was in such a rush i couldnt do a guide...

Ill try sort one when weather is a bit better...
I can see people having the same trouble soon.

Simply down to plastic fatigue..

Glad to here you got it fixed without throwing a lot of money at it.
Looking forward to a guide of some sort, ever written if you did not have time to take pictures.

sorry to revive an old thread, but I have exactly the same problem.

my heater blows out cold air and I have no way to regulate the heater temperature. I also have climate control.

Off i went to the dealership advising of the problem to be told the air mixer actuator had broke. I was charged £65+ vat for the diagnosis and was told it would cost £160+vat to correct the problem.

A few days later I took the car back to the dealership to get the heater fixed and within a few hours later I was called to be told that the air mixer isn't actually broke, its the round gear wheel that attaches to the air mixer actuator that had broken. I was told that this part isn't available to order on its own, it only comes with the heater box which is £980+vat for the part and then it would be at least 200 + vat in labour. Although i don't need a heater box, its only way i can get the little plastic gear wheel to fix the problem. The dealer advised that if you could buy this part separate it would cost pennies.

Although the dealership refunded the cost of the air mixer actuator £48.00 i have still paid £185+vat in labour and are no further forward, i still have no heating and unless i am willing to spend another £1200 + vat i have no way to resolve the problem. I am miffed to say the least!

Can anyone on here give me any advice of what to do next? With winter approaching I really would like to get my heater working again without spending a fortune.

Baring in mind the amount of money we are talking here is horrifying, can you not take the offending item to an engineer's machine shop that they could knock you one up out of alloy on a cnc machine ??

Usually this is THE only option to avoid future failures, other components i know fail that are manufactured in plastic i am replacing in ally for longevity, its all done to keep manufacturing costs down hence the poor quality of materials fail eventually.

Would like to see a picture of this component if at all possible. Depends who you know really but, i have a chap who has got me out of the proverbial a few times now and also takes on almost anything as a one off to large batch component runs, he's very reasonable on price and has a wealth of machining knowledge and plenty of experience, and also very thorough.

This all sounds ridiculous (i.e. the failure of a small part which isn't available for a reasonable cost) and if I was in the same position I wouldn't have a clue where to go for a one-off replacement. But sounds like there's a possible solution, and if it's bound to fail sooner or later I'd be interested in getting the same part sorted in preparation..

Would also be interested to see what the part is..
