Hello there,
I think I need to get an error code reader. I have seen some on ebay and generally online.
My car is a 57plate multijet. Is the OBD2 one the correct one.
Are they fairly straight forward to use and is it fairly safe, ie. I don't want to screw up the ecu.
I am having ongoing problems with my Panda, with power loss at certain revs and occasional misfires. Also the warning light is on quite a lot (all the time at the moment).
Any guidance welcome
Thanks very much,
Richard.

Think the obd/obd2 code reader should read fault codes no problem and hopefully it might have on screen instructions to help but generally as long as you plug it in to diagnostic port located behind lower dash panel on the right of steering wheel, you will have to undo the 2 screws first !then once its plugged in turn ignition on and read dtc code but turn ignition off after codes read and written down for reference before removeing from diagnostic port to prevent any problems.

Any obd2 coder reader will do. Make sure it's V1.4 or higher if getting an elm327 as the software linked free on here needs this (it's very good software) or get a bluetooth version and "torque" app if you use android.

I have a 55 reg MJ amd I bought one off ebay for £19.99. It's a 'Memo Scanner' and is OBD II, it does the job fine. Comes with instructions and a vast list of all the code numbers for you to refer to.

It's enabled me to find out my recurring fault light is not too urgent to sort out and you can reset the light too. Important now because ANY fault lights are now an MoT failure. All for less than the price of paying a dealer to plug it into their code reader.
