Ok, I know there's older threads on this but has anyone got an update on a decent solution? Had the car for two years and no complaints - apart from the drivers seat over longer journeys. Not sure if it's just me, but I'm convinced it's getting worse.

Don't want any "tear the car apart" solutions but a conversion fitting kit for Recaros would be ideal! Yes, it's a long shot.....

I was being lazy..

I have asked the stockists some questions and will report back. I believe that Sparco produce a ready fit base and this will take Recaros as the seat mounting points are apparently the same.

Confusing myself. No side airbags but there's wiring under the seat. Is that anything to do with airbags / pretensioners or perhaps ICE related? Not clear whether there's any electrics that I need to be worried about...

Your issue is that that the seat belt is integrated into the seat. You might have to look into how you could solve that issue as a Recaro won't have that.

It's a shame the Abarth seats are no better in respect of support so nothing to be gained by swapping those in.

Yes, thats an issue and I've already asked suppliers. Sparco bases "apparently" have a bracket to mount a buckle and I've asked the OMP supplier the same question also.

Will do some more research and see if there's a decent car upholsterer. Have ordered a lumbar support, so will see how this improves things.

Yes, had a second and proper look today. The wires are all subwoofer related, and there doesn't appear to be anything connected with the seat. Can anyone confirm that this is 100% right?

Clearence from the subwoofer could be an issue..

The car will fail the MOT if any of the airbags are disabled. See if you can buy a universal seat frame. Your talking a few hundred £££ for a pair of frames & 2 seats so it's not really worth changing.

He hasn't got seat airbags (had no idea anyone bothered ticking this option box) so no airbags would be disabled.

I know this sounds silly and I have probably come late to this debate, but I don't have any issues with the seats in my 100hp, I regularly drive from London to Liverpool and haven't had any issues, BUT I did spent a lot of time on adjustment when I got the car. I do an average of 2000 miles a month in mine. Mind you it might be because I come with a bit of 'extra padding' as standard.....:D

I'm now using a lumbar support and it seems to be making a big difference. I'll give it a month and see how it goes.

Having seen what others have done, I'm now convinced that the Sparco seat mount would come with a bracket. - the Punto mount certainly does. The OMP ( the seat design looks better) seat mount would need to be modified, but these looks possible. Will report back if I take this further.

Do you have a link for the lumbar support you have been using?
Thanks.

Great, thanks!
Have you been happy with it and did it not only support the body better but also prevented the seat back from wearing and the metal coming through?
Also what size did you go for?
