rocker cover gasket

Iíve just changed my rocker cover gasket on my fiat panda 1.2, and when putting everything back together i used black Loctite silicone, but on reflection was this bad idea? I'm worried that the excess silicone could break off and block the oil feed to the top of the engine.

Should i take the gasket off and use something else other than Loctite? Many thanks.

Re: rocker cover gasket

No I wouldn't worry,

that's what the oil-filter is for.

the little you would have used to help the gasket re-seat is pretty small,

Charlie

Re: rocker cover gasket

You shouldn't need to put extra sealant on a cam cover gasket really.

Re: rocker cover gasket

A Subaru has a boxer engine though, so a little different in that respect.
