Just bought a 100hp yesterday on a "57" plate. When driving it home I discovered the audio/bluetooth controls on the steering wheel are not working. Does anyone know if this is an easy fix or is it a new wheel and if so how much? Be grateful for advice as I have to phone garage in morning.

Cheers

Sandy

The switches are just normal switches which go to wires. They do not convert to CAN communication as many believe. If there is no response from anything, it is a strong chance that one or more contacts has broken or worn at the point at which the signals are transferred from the rotating wheel to the stationary column.

Regardless of this and because of a lack of scope of the electrical manuals on these cars I would agree with a quick "turn it off, leave it, and try again" approach that Andy suggests!

Thanks for the replies guys & sorry for taking so long to post but this is due to the fact I was on the ferry home last night. Anyway as far as the steering wheel goes, I took the car to a first class Fiat dealer in Aberdeenshire who got one of his mechanics to look at it right away as I was on ferry at night. Turns out the radio had been out and when put back had been connected up wrong as well as a bolt missing for the mounting chassis. They got it working for me and only cost £50 (Garage I bought car from has agreed to pay half)
