Test drove the Mylife today, great little car. Lovely smoothe ride, quick enough around town and on dual carriageway. Forgot i wasnt driving the HP when going round a couple of roundabouts but I didnt loose it to much.

Love the simplicity of it. Manual air-con, manual adjust wing mirrors, single din CD player without steering wheel controls so easy to replace. No multi functional comp, so i wont sit there working out my MPG all the time. Love the big speedo in the middle of the dash.

Got everything i need, and got a good deal on the 100HP , so i could be a Mylife driver soon. :)

Haven't driven a normal Panda yet... might give it a go... since i'm not having any luck finding my perfect HP! lol

Keep looking, you'll find one. The HP is a great car, Ive had mine 3.5 years and not had a single problem with it. But I only use my car to get to and from work, nipping in to town, picking the kids up etc, all very short journeys. I just dont get to use the 100HP as it should be used for, bombing down nice winding roads, ragging the hell out of it.

The Mylife is a great price for the kit you get and will be ideal for the sort of driving I do these days. In fact its cheaper than the Cinq sporting I brought new in 1995. :)

I'm a little put off after the local fiat dealer being an a-hole, and I can't find any online I like. Will keep looking, I really want one!! I've been thinking about getting a motorbike and maybe a cheapo panda as a run about... or maybe a Smart car

I always wanted a Yellow Sporting when I was learning to drive! haha. So you're dedicated to Fiat then? Every car i've had has been a different make, I did drive my dad's Fiat Tempra a few times tho... I loved its digital Turbo boost gauge, very 90's! haha :D

I ordered a white Panda MyLife a few weeks ago and picked it up last week. Really pleased with it at first UNTIL I noticed the 12v socket is missing. The 12v socket which is advertised as a standard piece of kit on this model.

They guy in the showroom confirms their showroom model has one, and I have spoken to Customer Services and they claim it can't be retrofitted as it has to be installed in the factory. They're supposed to be talking to each other to sort something out, but I think they're being a bit useless so far. Can't understand how the socket can be missing, really.

To make matters worse, the car got towed from my residential parking space on the second day I had it by mistake, and when they brought it back it had a small but deep dent in the middle of the roof, which is now another hassle to sort.

Not doing well so far!

You can buy the 12v socket and mounting on E bay for about £20. I plugged it straight in to my 1.2 Active Motion, remove the tray and the plud and wire are underneath it takes about a minute. Don't believe customer services bull****!

Plenty of people have had them fitted. Personally I would have just handed the car back and refuse to pay anything until they fit the socket or give you a new car which does.

The problem is the dent means that is now not possible :(.

Sounds like you have had a bit of bad luck.

Does this go in place of the cigarette lighter, as the one i test drove had the ciggy lighter on it.

To be honest the brochure and website are not very accurate in listing what is on the car.

i love my panda 100hp i ve had it 3.5 years and still enjoy driving it.:)

12v socket/cigarette lighter are one and the same. 12v socket has a plastic cover saying 12v and the cigarette lighter has the heater dongle instead, complete with picture of a fag.

Very simple to install, even if you need to run suitable wiring in - 20 minute job, no more.

Got ya, I have the 12v thing in my Focus, ive never used it in eight years.

If I was in the market again I would prob go for a new mylife instead of a used active.

The 12v socket really is very simple to fit. A search will find you some posts on this being done in the active. As someone said above you can buy the fiat part on ebay (or im sure chris @souls in the traders section will sort you out) and if you do need to run a wire from the battery its not a difficult job and one of the bolts in the area of the socket will provide a decent enough ground.

Just seen the replies above. The Sales person at Fiat also reckons the 12v socket can be fitted, though the people at the Battersea Service Centre insist they can't do it. It does all seem ridiculous - if I'd have bought any other product and found a bit missing, it'd be sent back to the factory as faulty.

I just can't understand how they've managed to forget fitting a standard part of kit?

Oh, and does anyone know if the engine temperatures on these new cars are really stable or something, because in 500 miles I don't think my temperature gauge has moved!

Most cars ive had, including my 100HP stays at the half way mark, I think the fan kicks in if it goes above halfway.

I should be picking my MyLife up in 2 weeks so I'll let you know if mine moves. (y)

Hi, I picked up my MyLife today. My temp gauge sits in the middle just like my 100HP did.

Oh and mine didnt come fitted with the 12 v socket either. LOL, you just have to love Fiat quality control. (y)

Maybe it's no longer standard on the MyLife? Seems very odd because it was originally one of the things pointed out on the promotions/offers on fiat.co.uk, but you know how frequently specs are changed on Fiats!

Fiat do seem to be cocking-up a fair few Punto Evo orders at the moment, adding and removing stuff willy nilly, but that's the usual Punto factory in Italy which seems abit duff at QC. The Polish factory where the Panda & 500 is built is usually spot on

I guess as there moving panda production back to Italy the Polish dont really care anymore. I dont care about the 12 v thing missing, ive got one on our Focus and Ive never used it. Just as long as the rest of the car works ok, which it seems to be. I'm really enjoying it actually. I was worried that i would miss the 100HP but I'm not at all. Ive just gone past 200 miles on one tank of fuel, never did that in the 100HP, that along with £30 cheaper insurance, £30 tax and a nice smooth ride its spot on. I get my kicks from chucking mountain bikes down hill these days , rather than driving around like a loony.
