I've noticed over the past few days the climate control on my 100 HP doesn't switch from windscreen to center vents to floor automatically.
It just flips between windscreen and floor in automatic mode.
The only way to get warm air from the center vents is to press the vent button, it then works OK. but auto light goes off because I override the system. but center vent never works in auto mode ( Should it?)
Now I know it sounds like no big deal, but I'm starting to wonder if the climate control is starting to go faulty ,or is this the normal operation of the system.
Hand book is not very clear on this.
Had the car almost 2 years now with no faults ,and never payed much interest to the climate system , just set it to 22c and that was it .
But the recent cold weather caused me to use the system more in manual mode
(windscreen needs more warm air etc etc)
Anyone else have this fault ,if indeed it is a fault.
On the plus side, this as got to be one of the fastest warming heating system on what is a very cheap car , Start car up > reverse out of garage > turn car at end of lane > drive back up lane..... Warm air , fantastic.

The centre vents only really get used a lot when you have the climate on in hot weather, so when the AC is working.

In the winter it will always be either to the screen when it's cold and to the floor at the same time, to the screen only when defrost is pressed. Otherwise it always goes to your feet on auto.

I guess the point is on auto you want the warm air to go to your feet as warm air rises it makes sense once the screen is demisted.

Lauren has basically described what I also understood from the owners guide. In cold weather the climate control will not pass air through the centre vents. Thats because warm air rises so it will always blow it out of the bottom instead. This a quicker way to warm the car although you dont get the sudden warm relief from centre vents. I found it does actually work better and warms up the car quicker.
