I think it's reasonably fair given the intergalactic mileage for a two and a half year old car.
Yes. It is hard to price when there is little to compare. Funny thing is that it hadn't been in use for a while either and tax ran out on it in August. Means it did 70k in two years, but maybe less! Was the person ever out of it? Strange life this car has had.

It is a great find for me because I'm not bothered how many miles it has done like any one else would be, but the low age is good for longevity of the car for me in terms of rust, although I admit it is a while before any 100HP owner will be too worried about this. The steering wheel (one hand, 2 'o' clock position!) and gear knob show the miles, but everything else doesn't, including the very clean engine bay.

Makes you wonder how someone can do circa 30k a year in a 100hp, given its bouncy nature.....I will be looking into whether you cure this, if you do, the I will admit in advance I will be copying you.

The key isn't so much the ARB itself, it's the fact that by stiffening the beam they can use softer springs as part of a package with different dampers.

Personally I reckon you'd be better off just grabbing the B4 dampers that Bilstein offer or the Koni offerings for the Panda. Unless of course like Lewey you want to go the whole hog and can get parts cheaply.

If I can reduce the pogo effect I will be a happy man, it's the only thing I dislike about the car, and it's still more comfortable than my previous cooper s.

Not so unbelievable. I've had my 500 1.4 since new. She's 3 years old this year and I've got 58,000 miles on it. I don't think I do particularly huge miles but compared to this forum I evidently do :)

My 100HP is at 81k and is just over 3 years old. When I first started teaching, I did 90k in 3 years.

don't get me wrong, I have handed one work car back with 170k on in 4 years, but that was 95% motorway madness. I can't imagine doing the same sort of motorway jaunts in something small. Then again, I suppose I am spoilt driving motorway barges over the years.

Anyways, back to the OP thread.........

When do we see it start to change!!! :slayer:

When do we see it start to change!!! :slayer:

I have put a front passenger Abarth 500 seat in to see what it looks like. Will post a picture tomorrow. It will require a small mod to fit on one of the 4 mountings. I will probably have a proper look at suspension on Sunday/Monday, but won't be implementing any changes until I have an ARB type rear beam in my garage. Waiting for a couple of places I know to come off holiday I'm afraid.

I actually have to replace the wheels with non-standard type as an insurance requirement in the next few days! Lady at Adrian Flux made me promise to mod it soon so it fulfils the modified insurance criteria. I have some 16" OZ Superleggeras that might look horrible on it, but were a great price, have good tyres and are a good performance upgrade at least. They have 195/45r16 tyres which is slightly larger than 100HP standard, but same diameter as other models. I noticed my speedo is quite optimistic, almost as if it is expecting the standard size tyre diameter. It should make it spot on with the OZs.

Engine will be the last thing I do and that may be a few months ahead, but it depends on how I feel and how much work there is to do on my trackday Uno, which is more of a priority to get rolling before warm weather.

if you go to www.powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi you can check the size difference, works out that the 16" rims are only 4.6% larger diameter.
I must say I find it slightly funny that you're telling someone who is going to turbo a Panda and put Fiat 500 suspension into it that putting larger wheels on will make the speedo read slightly differently :p

If Lewey came on here and said "I iz wantin' to bling up my car to attract the bitchiz and I has purchased some OZ Superleggera's with 195/45 R16 tyres on them. Big it up for me aiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!!!!!" then I can undestand telling him the basics, but he seems like he knows what he's doing ;)

I think you both misunderstand what I was meaning. Most speedos are circa 5-10% out (obviously in my experience, comparing various gps with speedos). I was agreeing with the OP that it would make his speedo more accurate :bang: as the 4.6% oversize will help. Have you thought maxi that someone else reading this might not have known that, so the link would show THEM.

btw, the OZs will look superb

Looking forward to seeing pics of the Abarth seats in the car. What colour is your original interior? If you need somewhere to offload your standard 100HP seats (ideally both front and rear), then please let me know, as I am looking to upgrade those in my 4x4.

Thanks,

Phil G

100hp interiors are always grey/black.

I responded to the wanted ad on here, but if I get nothing back, I will PM you. At the moment it is only the front ones that I'll be selling.

I did sell the 100HP seats to that member on here. I have fitted the Abarth ones. Shame I can't make use of the airbags as the car is not ready to plug into them software-wise, even if I ran wires to the correct place.

Also fitted the wheels, which are actually Superturismo GTs, I have grey Superleggeras on my Uno and got confused!

Apart form the slightly undesirable rise in ride height, they look good I think. They have a bit too much offset for the perfect look and are very close to the anti-roll bar droplink threads coming through the struts. They will be perfect when I fit the slightly wider track front and rear. Also, the 500 struts have the droplink mounting angled away from the wheel to facilitate a wider fitment anyway.

Done some more comparisons of front suspension and am now as convinced as I can be that it will all fit. The 500 wishbones do indeed give the inch or so extra track at the front. The 500 driveshaft is an inch longer, but has the same parts either end of it. I was unable to spot the difference between the two uprights though. I have to assume that there is the smallest of differences to the two strut mounting holes to compensate for the ever so slightly increased angle of the strut due to the track increase, but whatever I measured and looked at, I couldn't see this difference. The considerably more substantial wishbones will just bolt on and the anti-roll bar has the same distance between mountings, so presume it will too. I would therefore guess the difference between the 500 and panda front subframe must only be the two flat rounded projections coming from the front as indicated in ePer. The anti-roll bar is quite a lot thicker on the 100HP. Obviously compensating for much softer springs than the Abarth 500, but I wouldn't say they were soft in the 100HP really.

Can confirm that Abarth 500/GP T-Jet front brakes fit in a standard 100HP wheel.

Comparing photos of the rear suspension of an Abarth 500 and 100HP, there is a pretty big difference in the compressed coil height when stood normally. Little worried that using the standard Abarth springs all round will result in the skirting on the floor, but we will see!

I like the look of those wheels on the car - good luck with rest!
