Its not normal for me to find these, as I often read the manual front to back and know exactly what a car does and doesn't do.

But driving along with the wipers on the other day in the rain, and when the car stopped the wippers automatically went to intermitant mode. When moving off again they then re-selected constant.

Neat I though.

Was on dads 2009 Eleganza. I don't think sisters 2004 Active does this, and nore does my Stilo :( :p

Jon.

my active does this. if you have them on intermittant then they stop when you stop the car.

one thing i like about my panda is that when you stop the car with the lights still on they turn off with the ignition and if you push the stalk back you can set them to stay on in 30sec intervals. i think it goes to over 2 mins

I found a hidden feature in my Panda the other day, only had the front wipers on when i stuck her in reverse and the rears come on automatically and stop when in neutral or first. Never had this on a car before :p old tech i know, it just surprised me haha

No, it was better than a daft swivel thing to set the time. You simply flicked it on intermittent, leave for the desired time, then turn it off and then on again to intermittent. Worked very well.

Sounds cool!

As long as you remember to de-ice your rear window before reversing :D

Probably worth working out which fuse will blow and carrying a spare :D

The wipers just work off the ECU speed signal, they speed up the faster you go.

The hidden feature I found is that when you remove the key from the ignition the electric windows still work for a about 30 seconds afterwards, a brilliant feature as I am always forgetting to wind the windows up.

Noticed that too, though the auto on the drivers side doesn't work in this scenario.

I thought they worked until you opened a door

yea they only work without the ignition until after like 30 sec or when you open the door.

i wish the car would put all the windows up if you hold the key in the lock postion for a few sec.

i dont have remote central lockin and only front elec windows so maybe its just the active that doesnt do this

My Dynamic doesn't do it either, I don't think any Panda has elec windows in the back, either.

If I could replace the button on the remote to pop the boot with one that alternated between opening and closing the windows like on my parents' C5, I'd swap it in a heartbeat.

The other car in our house opens all the windows if you hold down the unlock on the remote which is great on hot days when you want to clear the air before you get in

My Mk5 Fiesta was exactly as described above. The Mk6 then changed to the rotating switch - probably because most Mk5 owners were never aware of the ability to change the intermittent time delay.

The Mk6 Fiesta was better than the Panda in regard of the rear wiper coming on when the fronts are on and reverse gear is selected. It only operated intermittently, whereas the Panda's is on constantly and is completely unnecessary. When manoeuvring, I have to advise students to switch off the front wipers and use the manual wipe [pushing up] which then also wipes the rear just once.

The rear wiper on the 500 and I assume (possibly wrongly) the Panda operates in whatever mode the front wipers are in, so if the front is on intermittent the rear is too :)

On mine the rear wiper is intermittent when the fronts are on constant. With the fronts on intermittent the rear flicks on every other front sweep.

(y)

rarely use the rear wiper even when its raining. i fnd that if you moving along at anythin over 20mph the rear window barely gets wet

Rear screen will normally be clear before front when using rear screen heater vs cold engine and heater :p

About 3 min.

Yep, or 3 min, which ever is first

The buy a Stilo

TBH the whole range of Panda's is quite poverty striken imo concidering what other models do.

Nope, has a seperate switch on the Panda.

On mine the rear wiper is intermittent when the fronts are on constant. With the fronts on intermittent the rear flicks on every other front sweep.

The rear wiper, as long as front wiper is on, operates on a system of 1 wipe of the rear wiper for every 2nd wipe of the front. So speed of rer is adjusted depending upon the speed of the front wipers, but the 2nd wipe rule still applies.

Ashame its not 3rd/4th swipe tbh and 2nd is too often imo.
