The Panda is actually very well equiped when you consider how cheap they are. Just look at the 100HP for the price it is in a league of its own.

To be fair, if Fiat fitted everything on the Panda that you can get on a Stilo, then (even less) people wouldve bothered buying a Stilo. The only advantage of it then becomes the space inside & associated benefits of that.

I think the only Panda that was abit stingy on kit was the early Actives. The Eleganza was amazing for it's price, which was £8095 or something when it was launched. I mean Dual Zone climate control, external temp display, electric everything, rear head rests, alloys. For 8 grand! Blo*dy bargain!

The Stilo has the annoying habit (as MEP will now) of sweeping the rear wiper continuously whilst the fronts are on and the car's reversing - highly annoying! And the fronts don't go intermittant when stationary like the Panda does either. In this instance i think Panda 1, Stilo 0.

The rear wiper on the 500 and I assume (possibly wrongly) the Panda operates in whatever mode the front wipers are in, so if the front is on intermittent the rear is too :)

Yes, that is correct.

However, if you read what I originally said, I was refering to when the front wipers are on and reverse gear is selected. In this scenario, the fronts can be on intermittent and yet the rear will be on constant, simply because the car is in reverse - totally unncessary :)

IMO, Ford [at least on the Mk6 Fiesta] got the wiper controls perfect.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but if the front wipers are off, and you select reverse, and push the wiper stalk up (as if to wipe the windscreen) it will also wipe the rear windscreen once as well!

The A500 doesn't even have this feature, it also doesn't have the feature where if the wipers are on speed 2, and you stop, they usually go onto intermittent. But not on the A500 :(

Glad I'm not the only one who thought the Panda was dual zone climate. But when we got our Eleganza it isn't :(

Meh, adjustable intermittant off-sets that :p

I thought the wipers stopping was the smart-wipe "technology" that they banged on about in the spec?

Smart Wipe I thought was the feature of it auto doing the wipers when you use the screen washers.

I thought "Smart Wipe" was that after you switch the wipers off, it does one extra wipe 10 seconds later to clear away any dribbles from the top of the screen. Perhaps that's only the Stilo definition of "Smart Wipe" though.

Yep, I said it at the top of page 2 - and like 306maxi, you didn't read what I had written: :p

When manoeuvring, I have to advise students to switch off the front wipers and use the manual wipe [pushing up] which then also wipes the rear just once.

Oh I was sure it always said in the literature for the Panda that it was Dual Zone. Anyone else with an Eleganza that can comment? Maybe model year related?

Meh, adjustable intermittant off-sets that :p

It does kinda, i just prefered not having to keep clicking the stalk up & down, what with clicking it up & down alot already due to the fussyness of the wipers, with regard to setting the correct speed for the type of rainfall - they do the Mk2 Punto style juddering & nasty noises if i get it wrong :(

Smart Wipe I thought was the feature of it auto doing the wipers when you use the screen washers.

Wasn't that called something like Anti-Dribble, or at least the final wipe a few moments after using the washers? I remember reading it and chuckling at how simply it'd be named (i'm easily amused).

I don't see how it is possible for the Eleganza to have dual zone climate, just look at the controls for the climate control.

It is the same as the 100hp.

Yeah, I don't think it ever has, a typo a bit like the heated door mirrors across the Eleganza range that ours doesn't have :p :(
