General Heater Problems

General Heater Problems

I only find the auto climate control any use on long trips. For short journeys its too much messing about with the temp because by the time you have it set you have arrived at your destination. If the car is hot I just put the temp at 16 and switch the air con on.

Yep its right there in black and white from my first post. It looks like English to me anyway.

For the record, I barely touch mine....Up or down a couple of degrees and maybe turn the compressor off if it's blowing a bit too cold....That or the occasional demist....Apart from that it's on full auto 99% of the time....

:)

Yes, it'll still try and regulate set temperature though, so will adjust fan speed unless you've adjusted fan speed manually.

That doesnt sound right to me. If you turn off the compressor then the auto function also turns off completely. So it wont be trying to regulate any temperature or be adjusting fan speed as its in manual mode. If you turn off the compressor or adjust the fan speed that immediately turns off all automatic function. This is also confirmed by what it states in the owners manual. And also by the fact that the auto light goes out when you turn off the compresor and/or adjust the fan speed.

Well it is....:D

No....But it is no longer fully AUTO, hence the light goes out.... ;)

Yes it does.... :)

No, just the function you change.... :)

The owners manual in mine backs it up, although it's not that clear....;)

If you don't believe me, try it....Put it in AUTO and turn off the compressor....Now turn up the temperature and watch the fans and direction change....Trust me, we had a big discussion about this a while ago....

Basically anything you change becames MANUAL, anything you don't change remains AUTO....

Well it still doesnt sound right to me but im not going to argue about it. A question remains though. If the auto function isnt turned off even when the light is out how do you completely turn off the auto function? What if I dont want the speed of fans adjusting, what if I want everything on manual? It seems to me like you are saying that you cant have the heater/cooling system fully on manual.

I should imagine that to have everything in manual you have to turn off the compressor and adjust the fan speed to set those to manual. Like I said doesnt sound right to me but hey ho.

Well, like we've been saying it is right! That's how it works.

Adjust everything manually and everything will work manually. Simple really.

Regardless of what you have been saying I dont just trust the word of some strangers on an internet forum. Thats the beauty of having a free mind and being confident enough to make your own mind up.

Strangers who have all had their Pandas for a fair while, have worked out how to use to climate control, and have taken the time to explain it to other members who can't work it out....

Thats the beauty of having a free mind and being confident enough to make your own mind up.

And still get it wrong.... :D

Well why ask then? And well done for thinking you've achieved self actualisation.

I give up, you are wasting my time. (n)

We are more than just strangers, we are like an extended family

As was said previously, there was a massive thread about this - so there really is no need to continue with the attitude :)

So, moving on....

I dont think I have an attitude at all. All I was saying is that I make up my own mind about things. I dont just take it as read what people tell me.

If you want to remove me from the forum its your call but as I am concerned I have done nothing wrong. I have been perfectly polite and respectfull in all my posts.
