General Panda towbar electrics serious problem

Hello,
Sorry to be starting a new thread on something previously covered, but that was a while ago and didn't mention my problem.
I took my car ( a 2007 Panda Multijet) into a garage to have a towbar fitted 4 weeks ago. Something went wrong with the electronics on the car and a padlock warning light came up and the fuel pump was not working. The engine would turn over and the lights worked but would not start.
It was taken to a specialist Italian car garage who ran checks with Fiat computers but could not access either of the ECUs.
They replaced the body ECU with no result. The engine one was sent of to a specialist who could also not get into it to find the problem.
They have fitted an enging ECU and, as far as I know, with no result.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I have been without my car for 4 weeks and, whilst the garage who fitted the towbar and the specialist garage are very sorry to keep me without a car, I would really like it back.

I assume they've disconnected all the wiring they done to try and sort the issue?

Yes, I checked that they had disconnected the offending connections.
