You guys have probably already read a post on this forum about Fiats future plans.

https://www.fiatforum.com/lets-talk-fiat/234705-fiat-future-plans.html

In particular Fiat are replacing the Panda in 2011 with a new Panda. I have looked around online and I cant really find any decent spy shots. The only decent article I found was this one.

http://www.motorauthority.com/blog/1030808_spy-shots-2011-fiat-panda-test-mule

To me though that just looks like a current model matt black Fiat Panda. Its only a test mule but I cant see any glaring differences. Fiat must already have the new car almost ready as its supposed to be shown this year. Unless the new Uno is actually the new Panda but its unlikely. I cant wait to see the new Panda because that will determine if I decide to get another one or not.

It will also be interesting to see what models will be taken over. Maybe the 1.1 will finally be dropped. The Active could either disappear completely or just have a 1.2 engine. Hopefully the 100hp or another sports model will be offered as its very popular. Obviously its all speculation and rumour at the moment but it will be interesting to see what Fiat do.

I have seen some shots which are make the Panda look like a Proton Savy.

Personaly I cannot see the 2011 Panda being on sale in the UK in 2011. Maybe later on 2011 but the Panda MK2 will be on sale for another 18 months yet in the UK I would have thought.

No doubt the run out ones will be £1500 less than what I paid for my active (£6800).

Don't be such a pessimist, JD.
The new Panda will look so naff that your 1.1 Active will retain its value as a "future classic" and you and your dad will be fighting over who keeps it!

the matt black Panda in the photo appears to have that big extra front end bumper nose extension jobby that some other fiats have ! (n) (looks like they forgot to put something in so just added a big box to the front bumper)

This is one render I have seen, I actually really like this one, I have seen another design which looks more like a Savy though.

However an Italian built Panda with perhaps no FIRE 8v engine it sort of looses half of its appeal. Unless the Italians can improve the build quality beyond the Punto MK1 my dad had ten years ago - a reliable car but so many things didn't fit.

Thats a great image and I think its more like what the new Panda will actually look like. In other words more like the 500 because its just looks like a Panda with a 500 front end. I think it looks ok but I am not keen on the round lights I prefer the current Panda lights.

The 100hp isn't popular at all. There are a lot of owners on this forum, but in the real world there doesn't seem to be that many at all. I'd say it's the active and dynamic that'll you'll see regularly around town. As for 100hp's I've seen no more than a handful over the last 20 months.

So I'd think that Fiat would concentrate their efforts on the cheaper panda models as these are good sellers. I think it's about time though that Fiat got rid of the ancient 8v engines and had a decent 16v alternative replacement. I guess it will be the two pot engines that have been developed that look likely.

Well I have seen a few 100hp's around here, they are mostly Dynamics though. Even if in terms of sales the 100hp isnt successfull it certainly has a good rep and thats also important. I know Evo magazine rave about it and it features highly in Top Gears buyers guide for hot hatches. I havent seen that many Actives (easy to tell as they dont have cloth headrests) because I think people prefer to spend a bit more to get more kit on the Dynamic.

I have seen loads of Actives on 59 and 10 plates. The dyamnic also has foam head rests too dosn't it?

The big give away on the Active is the grill.

Just because you've seen a few, does not mean that they are exactly common does it? I bet if you look at the sales figures, the 100hp's will most likely account for the least sales. Actives/dynamics are nearly ten a penny around Manchester. I did see a 100hp today, that's the first one I've seen in 3 weeks, just to give you an idea.

Think they have pushed the boundaries of luxury with the more recent actives as I'm sure they now have padded headrests. Oh the decadence. :p

My March '09 regsitered Active has plastic restraints.

Well last year it was only the Active that came with non fabric headrests.

As I said even if the 100hp hasnt sold many it still has a good rep and that counts for a lot even if sales are poor. You dont see many Focus RS about but they have a fantastic rep so give the car a good image.

Is it a surprise you see many Actives or Dynamics around Manchester, after all it is Manchester.

As for cloth headrests then they are for nancy boys, give me a hard headrest to bang my head against any day.

Some do have solid ones though I wonder if it was some sort of option? Certainly FIATs website suggest the Dynamic comes with hollow ones.
I've a feeling padded restraints come along with the split rear seat option.
