Hi All

Just bought a Panda Multijet Sporting (private sale) and really pleased with it. My only concern is I keep hearing a strange ticking noise that speeds up when accelerating / revving the engine. Sounds like it's behind the dash and only happens when the car's cold, disappears when engines up to temp.

Anybody got any ideas?

Open the bonnet and see if it is louder under there.

Suppose it could be something small like a glowplug relay or something more serious like a cam chain tensioner.

When was the oil last changed?

Was serviced last last October. Cam chain tensioner, now I'm really worried!

is it a heavy tick or a light ticking? some diesels ive heard especially common rail have loud injectors that you can hear injecting, also on petrols you can hear this especially my active eco, but they quiet down when the engine is up to temp

It's a light ticking noise, thought it might be the heater matrix or something but worth listening to the injectors just in case.

i wouldnt of though it was heater matrix as its just a small radiator, maybe the fan attached to it though

turn the ignition on and turn the fan on
